If you go to links below the picture you'll see a couple sneak peeks from back in 2012, the prototype rifle was then known as the XS-2012. It looks like they've revamped it and it's now being called the XS14, maybe it will make an appearance at the upcoming SHOT Show.

The projected retail price they have might be a little on the optimistic side, the MPAR seems like a way better choice at this point. And ya I wouldn't doubt it would be silly $ by the time it got up here.

No 18.5"+ barrel option = restricted anyway.

A lot of rifles don't until they make a Canadian export version with a longer barrel.

It's not much of a looker, but there certainly are uglier guns on the market!

It's got both a polymer lower (like a ACR or 180B), and a polymer upper (kind of like the SU-16).
Not sure I'm convinced on the polymer upper thing yet, and some people still can't get over a polymer lower.

Only time will tell.

...we have been making slight changes to the XS14, however, this new carbine will be released this year.

As a follow up to this thread I emailed S.A.R.G. and this is the response I got.
