I recently sent in my papers to get my minors license turned into a PAL and am wanting to purchase a shotgun. I have not shot a shotgun before but I was wanting to get into skeet and target practice. I like the look of the Xtrema2 and was wondering if it is a non-restricted firearm. Thank you.

yep, the extrema 2 is non restricted. Very nice shotgun, will handle 2 3/4 up to 3 1/2 inch shells with minimal cycling problems. It may or may not like very light trap loads... each one eats differently. If you do go with one, be sure to follow the break-in instructions , will help feeding greatly. I'm assuming your looking at this gun because you hunt waterfowl? Either way, this is a high quality shotgun, and probably the only one you will need.

it is okay if you have the money to spend thy are not cheap .I went with the mosberg and am very happy three barrels scope mount what more could you want for under 400$ my 2 cents DUTCH

If you don't need the 3 1/2" go with the ureka II. It can be found for around $1000 far better gun than the mossberg and they will cycle anything.

win64 is correct... you cannot compare the mossberg to the beretta. Apples to oranges...If you don't need the 3 1/2 capability, go with the urika or urika 2. I worked a deal with a member here for a urika gold sporting, mobil choked gun. Takes up to 3 inch, knocked ducks and geese out of the sky as if they were hit by a lightning bolt! I bought it mainly for upland work, but ordered a synthetic stock and forend from the states for when I take it for geese.

I am mostly wanting the gun for Skeet. I also want it to handle heavy loads(3 1/2 Slugs) because I am a Surfer and we sometimes go on boat trips to the Charlottes. We have seen a few big Grizzlies and I may need to defend myself one day. Is this gun ok for trap and skeet?

OK...now I'm really confused!!!! Are you planning to carry it while your surfing? The extrema is a great gun, but for strictly skeet, I think it's overkill. You don't need 3 1/2 capability for skeet. However, if you are going to expose it to sal####er, it would be a good choice with the coating on it. The bear defense thing is another story.... I would consider a dlask 8.5 inch or a 12 inch short barreled for that, with a shoulder stock of course:) .I think you need to think about what you really want this gun for... You are thinking about dropping 1600.00 on a shotgun, I'd make sure it suits my needs...

I know this is a massive repost of a youtube video but since your new you may not have seen it. It should answer your question weather its good for skeet or not.

I am sorry for the confusion upnorth. It will only be used for defence once and a while and it is not the reason I am buying the gun. I am going to mainly use it for skeet. It looks good, It is going to be fun to use.

have you shot skeet before?? I assume you have handled an extrema 2 already, so if you find the weight manageable and can afford it, go for it! IMHO, it's overkill for skeet. The urika is a far better choice for skeet, and will handle 3" slugs very well. Get what you feel comfortable with.... I just think the extrema 2 is a lot of money for a skeet gun, and the 3 1/2 inch capability will never be used on the skeet course. Just some more food for thought.:D

The Urika may be a better choice. I have never shot any shotguns before or gone to the range to shoot skeet. The main thing is that I don't want too much recoil but I want a 12 gauge. How do you find the recoil on the Urika?

Ok... now the picture is clear. I didn't realize you had no experience with shotguns, but that's ok... we all have to start somewhere!:) I love my urika. It is one of the softest shooting, most reliable auto loaders out there. You will find it's one of the most popular skeet autoloaders out there. If you decide to get one, let me know... I have a great book done by a member from shotgun world.com that will tell you everything you need to know about it.
