Just got my new toy. It's a model 16 classic in 223. Haven't gotten a chance to shoot it yet but I'm hoping it will shoot o.k.. I called savage just to find out what model it is because the box just said model 16 clas and I never seen it on the website. It is an exclusive run (whatever that means). It has a stock from a model 14 and a stainless fluted barrel with a clip. I topped it off with a veotex diamondback 4-12x40 with the bdc.

Just got my 116FCSS stainless synthetic accustock in 25-06. I have high hopes for this gun, passed on an Xbolt stainless for the Savage and not because it was $250 cheaper. This is my first Savage bolt gun!

I found it at Northpro sports. I got the scope there as well. I would deal with them again. It was all done over the phone. I called about prices on for a tikka t3 he didn't have any but he mentioned this one and sent me a picture and well.... the rest is history.

It weighs about 7 lbs and no I don't live in a log house I just have a real cool hunting room. We bought the house and the guy who owned it before was into antiques and had 2 rooms in the basement done to look like the inside of a log cabin ( a kitchen and a bedroom) full of the appropriate antiques. Now I have a pretty cool room for all my redneck gear.

I'd imagine that is as pretty as they make a Savage. Nice looking gun, they even prettied up the barrel nut.

Normally a savage shoots twice as good as it looks, this one might be right on par though:p

I handled that very rifle at Northpro over the xmas break. It's a beauty, but the bolt's on the wrong side for me... :( If i remember correctly, it was very well priced...seemed like all the rifles there were well priced.

Savage,purdy?

I 've a SS SA in factory "Classic" walnut stock. The wood stock solved the vertical stringing. I really like it ,but calling it good looking is a stretch.BTW, I have four barrels for mine.

A great choice of rifle, now make a barrel vise and get a wrench......

I was shown one at Hub's in Abbotsford today. They have two - .30-06 and 270 Win,
Very nice - so nice I did not recognize it as a Savage. Looks very much like a CDL.
