Y'all see the new Nighthawk Costa Recon?

What's a pistol like that worth without Costa's name on it? Must be around 3200-3500 bucks.

Listed as $3500 on NHC's site. Looks pretty awesome though. Not the biggest fan of the white block lettering, LOVE the rear sight. Definitely one of the more unique NHC's out there. Wonder if they'll have a Haley 1911 next.

I'll stick with my SIG 1911 Cary. That gun is probably 3x the price. I cant see how it can be even 25% better.

You might be right. However, for that kind of coin, it had f*cking better run like the proverbial sewing machine from day one to the end of time.. Sorry but there isn't a pistol in existence that's worth that. Paying for some dudes name stenciled on the slide is beyond homoerotic and tacky, its down right pathetic. Call me odd but I think NHC is hurting for sales and sees plastering some popular guys name all over the side as an easy way to increase sales.

Gorgeous gun...

It's not pathetic.. it's business. They are out to make money and if Costa is willing to go along then so be it. EVERYTHING ever sold is because of fanboys in some way, shape or form. We buy because we like it. We don't buy because we NEED it. Big difference.... 99.9% of us don't NEED any of this stuff for our livelihood... it's never a case of need and that goes well beyond firearms / accesories.

It certainly is a sharp looking pistol. Would I spend $4k on it.. most likely not but I won't judge someone who will no more than I want to be judged for my purchases.

Heresy! :) I'm guessing you've never tried a Nighthawk pistol--my GRP is by far the nicest firearm I've ever owned (and I've owned a lot!)

No I admit it, never handled a Nighthawk, I'm a newbie with pistols

Just looked at the website.......wow....those are some sweet pistols.

Cheers!!

so if you are a newbie, let me tell you that Nighthawk was formed by people who left Wilson Combat...and they, along with Les Baer and Ed Brown are pretty much the top of the 1911 food chain unless you go with full on customs like Larry Vickers, Ted Yost etc. I have an Ed Brown custom that was almost $3K..and its worth every penny.

I was just on the Wilson Combat site....drool. Some amazing guns.

Are there any Canadian dealers who carry high end 1911's?

absolutely! CGN sponsors Target Sports, Wanstalls, and Ellwood Epps all carry Nighthawk while P&D carries Wilson Combat.
BDW carries Ed Brown, Wilson Combat, and Les Baer

Whats with the rear sight on this one? I was looking at some pics on the site and it seems to go further back than the slide (ie not flush). That alone kinda kills this one for me, not that i could ever afford (or justify) spending that much on a pistol but I'm sure there are nicer models for less.

Look out Costa here comes Vickers LOL

Looks like a ledge sight, used for racking slide with one hand in emergency situations. (or looking weird at the range)
