No! Not because I've got a hate on for Bushnell, but because acurate rangefinding only becomes 'important' past ~500 yards (depending on your rifle's balistics). This is usually where cheaper LRFs crap out. My Bushnell 'legend' 1200 ARC couldn't randefind a cliff past 700 yards.
Depending on what your doing, you may not even need an LRF. Even if you're shooting at unknown distances, you can always put a meter stick next to your target and mil it at your shooting location. To a long range hunter however, an LRF is the most valuble tool (next to a good anemometer, angle cosine indicator, and wind flags).
I now have a Newcon 1800m and I haven't tried it to 1.8km but it seems up to the 1km task. The big plus about these LRFs (other than their price) is the fact that they are made in Canada and for a military market. Not saying milspec means much, but it's always nice to see a manufacturer with a higher purpose.
