Yellowjackets in a 10/22 Volquartsen match chamber

It shouldn’t be an issue to shoot these out of a match chamber I hope? I know Stingers are a no-go due to the longer case, but a quick search of this forum finds a lot of people cautioning against using yellowjackets in 10/22’s and match chambers. What’s the consensus?

The reason I’m asking is because I was tuning my rifle and testing different brands today and of the 12 types of 22lr I have on hand, the only stuff it likes is the yellowjackets. It consistently puts 10 rounds into a 1/2” at 50 yards. The next best was Federal Bulk which managed 10 into 1”.

I’m open to suggestions on other types of ammo to try as well.

The rifle in question is:
Ruger receiver
Ruger bolt
Volquartsen 18”, .920 barrel
Volquartsen trigger group
Volquartsen charging handle, buffer, extractor, and firing pin
Glass bedded Richards Microfit stock.
 
I dont know about Remington Yellowjackets, I have no personal experience but Il never put Rem thunderbolts through one of my .22s ever again. Leaded my rifle barrel something fierce.

I think the single reason some rifles say no to stingers is the longer case length, not the velocity.
 
If you have a mtach chamber be prapared to experience difficulty shooting regular off the shelf ammo. The chamber has been cut specially for match ammo. If you insist on putting non match ammo in that gun you will likely tire quickly of the difficulties.
 
So, you've already used the yellowjackets, did you have any extraction issues? If it's cycling properly, you're good to go. Stingers are the only issue because the longer case will get jammed into the rifling of a match chamber, but standard case length HV ammo is fine. I had a stuck casing in one of my bolt actions from using an HV round in it, I stick to SV ammo for that now. If the chamber is really tight, HV ammo might swell enough to get stuck and cause extraction issues, no issue firing it, just removing the spent casing every time.

I put 50 rounds through it yesterday, all the groups were stellar and it functioned flawlessly.

I was hoping to start shooting rimfire precision with this gun so I’m going to have to find a 40 grain load that it likes, I don’t think those little yellow jackets will behave well in the wind. The next time I get to the city I’m going to stock up on some match ammo to try.
 
I have a 16" match volquartsen barrel on my 10/22. Yellow jackets shoot alright, never had an issue with them. Aguilla are a decent bulk ammo and fairly accurate out to 50 yards. SK high velocity hollow points are way better than any yellow jackets, more consistent too. Regardless of the ammo you put through it, you'll need to clean the chamber out every couple hundred rounds for consistent extraction.
