I simply do not know anyone who shoots 3 Gun and I want to get into the sport.

Can someone school me on what needs to be done to get into it? Do I need the Black Badge Course and be a member of IPSC for it?

Yes your first step is the Black Badge if you want to do any three gun that will require holstering a pistol or a valid holster course. I am not sure if IDPA has one, they do recognize the BB cousre. You only need to be a member of IPSC after that if you want to shoot sanctioned IPSC matches.
