it sounds like xcr owners are having problems
with their rifles, gas issues etc.. I'm ready for a purchase
but a little Leary of spending a couple grand to be disappointed.
any owners out there have positive feed back? or do I go with the Tavor.

Yes new xcr's are all squared away. You dont need lock-tite anymore and all the parts are hardened properly. Mine didn't even need to be broken in. I was on gas setting 1 from the start.

All that being said I still want a tavor, I truly cant be satisfied. Although, the xcr did keep me satisfied longer than any other rifle (could be the price haha)

No problems with mine. You won't be disappointed buying a new model. When buying used, avoid guns with serial numbers under 7,000 to dodge the revisions that had some problems.

I'm in the same boat as you. If you are going to get an xcr wait a few month and get the key mod xcr with the new bolt system. If you get the old xcr and want the new bolt system you need to modify your lower. And the new one is a half pound lighter! I had questions about the quality of the xcr but it seems everyone that owns one is extremely happy. I just don't want to spend 2500+ to have to use lock tight or something like that. So I'm going with the tavor. When I held a tavor I knew I had to have it. My t4 needs to hurry up and get here so I can do my taxes and buy me some sweet Israeli goodness!

The new bolt system is only for the XCR L I think.
Also, the locktite joke is getting old on the XCR. I have not locklite my XCR and so far it has no problems.
XCR and tavor are 2 totally different guns...so if you want a gun that is more close to an Ar15, then get XCR. If you dont care...then both will work.

I own a tons of guns including the tavor, but when I go play I always bring the xcr. Mastering bumpfiring from the shoulder brother that's what were talking about woohoo bambambam

Rifle going on 5 years and micro going on 4 years, I have yet used a drop of loctite on either one, nor have I replaced anything.

I wouldn't really say it's a joke. The rifle comes shipped with locktite on the ejector and tells you to use it in the manual. You don't need to get offended it's just my opinion I don't want to spend 2500+ and have a slight chance I'm gonna have to rely on locktite and I was just letting the op know that could be a possibility. iwi is known for quality and reliability. Uzi, and galil are all amazing firearms from what I've read. And some please correct me if I'm wrong but is the desert eagle made by iwi?

I use loctite on anything I don't want coming apart. I don't see why a gun would be any exception. IWI puts loctite on theirs at the factory too.

Don't listen to the poorly informed haters. I've had my XCR for about 6 years. I've never needed to loctite anything. Only problem I ever had was I lost a pin that retains the upper and lower (it was during the EESA open house, no idea how it happened I was elsewhere). I called up, they sent me 5 replacements in case I lost one ever again. My experience is overwhelmingly positive, both from a product and a customer service perspective.

You won't be disappointed I borrowed my cousins for an afternoon at the range, his was in 7.62x39, had a blast, very accurate was blasting the 100 yard steel gong with ease. It feels great and very sturdy, you can get mags that hold more than 5 shots, hell if you can afford it, get it.

So I guess Alex Robinson is a "poorly informed hater". Maybe you should read your manual.
