No PAL needed BUT if used in the commission of a crime or more importantly if used as some form of personal self defense would this not automatically become a firearm in the eyes of the law? Might as well protect one's self with a real gun and have a better chance of survival than pissing off an assailant and still be charged with a firearms offence.

This thing is effective as a personal defense device only if used with pepper balls. In fact shooting pepper ball makes it same effect as a real gun especially for a head shot, except the bad guy will be still alive and sue you after. It also would be good for bear defense.

HOWEVER, pepper balls are prohib in Canada and that makes this gun just another fancy paintball marker which you can use in the game or training or just for fun. Cost wise, I think shooting 9mm is about the same.

Can't lie I've been looking at these.

Might be fun as a tacticool paintball marker with actual paintballs rather than these pricey redesigned paintballs. on that note, a paintball marker with a 300 round hopper is going to be more effective at pissing off the BG invading the home

Given the bans my potential shopping list is short.
I can think of times where this would be a good tool to have.

It's a shame the pepper ball version is prohibited animals don't like pepper.

And frozen paintballs

i thought the industry began manufacturing the paintballs with paint that won't freeze?
Played an insane amount of paintball for almost 2 decades in my late teens thru into my 30's.
Not competitively but we were in contact with many amateur teams throughout the lower mainland and gathered often out in the bush for our own personal events.
Back then we had a raccoon problem at one of the places I rented and paintballs weren't doing the trick. Just happened to have a bag of maltesers in my hand watchin a movie and I hatched a brilliant idea. Took out my spyder special edition and tried one in the feeder..... bit too big.... but the next few fit..... hmmmm..... pulled the trigger pointing it at the fireplace but just as I pulled the trigger the dog bumped me and the shot went wide hitting the wall. The dent it left in the drywall was impressive and the malteser pretty much vaporized LOL
Now those chocolate malt balls would do a little more than piss someone off .... the 'will' leave a nasty mark

Most of these can be juiced up...
I used to have a TR50 (I think) revolver, that was set up with the similar idea in mind.
The quick pierce feature is very important, as regular CO2 would just leak out over time and not work when you need it the most.

Anyway...I remember that there was some kit available, which would easily push it past 500fps if someone wanted to take that chance.
I suspect, that this pistol is no different and if there is no aftermarket kit right now, there likely will be in the future.

One thing all of these pistols have in common is a horrible trigger...but assuming the assailant is not on drugs, couple of hits in the right place would likely produce a desired effect (especially with PVC balls or the glass core PVC balls)

Link is broken :(

Seriously is anyone is even thinking that this could be considered for self defence?
Ya it’ll possibly buy you some confusion time to Run.
