Not meaning to be snarky, but in Canada if you fight back, they're going to put you through the grinder no matter what.
Actually a police buddy been telling me the courts been favoring the victims.

Seriously is anyone is even thinking that this could be considered for self defence?
Ya it’ll possibly buy you some confusion time to Run.
Given the bans my potential shopping list is short.
I can think of times where this would be a good tool to have.
It's a shame the pepper ball version is prohibited animals don't like pepper.
Better than nothing for those who don't have access to real firearms.
If you get one of those balls even at the low speed of 300 fps in the sack (no pun), I can almost guarantee you, that you will go fetal for quite some time (regardless of how though you might be..)
So yeah...dumping the mag at the attacker could give the intended victim enough time to at least get away...again, assuming that the attacker is not fortified on meth or other mind altering substance.
Depends on the rangeHaving been a professional airsmith for canadas largest paintball company and a sponsored player in Mil-sim paintball.. I can assure you getting shot in the sack is basically nothing if you are at all pissed off or scared etc. aim for the eyes
If only I still played paintball. All these new markers and gear these days are things I wished were available way back when I was stomping the field.
And would I get criminally prosecuted for using this for self defence as we don’t have much of a “stand your ground” law in this country?
This is pathetically hilarious for those of us who have been in real scenarios with real bad guys... flat out delusional to think this will do a Godam thing. Period.
What makes these "canadian compliant " as opposed to "not". And if anyone thinks these would be a good choice for "self defense " (as advertised)....lol. 100% delusional.
In fact shooting pepper ball makes it same effect as a real gun especially for a head shot, except the bad guy will be still alive and sue you after.
No PAL needed BUT if used in the commission of a crime or more importantly if used as some form of personal self defense would this not automatically become a firearm in the eyes of the law? Might as well protect one's self with a real gun and have a better chance of survival than pissing off an assailant and still be charged with a firearms offence.
