Hey guys, just looking for some little tip, as i feel i am out of ideas.
In the past i have created feeding threads, for my trojan .40, it is 100% reliable since then.
I have loaded my ammo longer, used 10mm tripp cobra mags with hybrid follower, shortened the mag feed lips (as advised by tripp), bought EGW 20 thou higher mag catch (never installed but have it in case).

I have just received my 2nd trojan, brand new, this will be my backup so i always have a gun to compete with when ones at the smith or such. I have a different feeding issue that what i have known with my first trojan.
I use same mags, and have also tried my elevated nag catch on it too to try out.
When i load mags to 8, i cannot chamber first round, it jams.
Shot 12 mags in a row loaded to 7, flawless feeding. Even with inerts in my basement, feeding in very slow mo, if loaded to seven it works wonders.
It will not chamber first round when loading to eight. Even tap racking several times in a row has no effect.

So once again CGN, anyone got something for me to try?

Trying with brand nEw ones i had as spare.
The trojans have changed geometry, between my 2011ish and this 2014ish, certain cuts and sizes are clearly different.

The older one feeds like a champ, this one too, just not first round.
Ironically, its the first new 1911 i see, that runs very well with supplied crappy non removable basepad magazine.
Metalform supply factory nags for STI, and they were all id run in 9mm, in 40/10mm they got crappy choices

Sent pictures to Virgil Tripp, he will want more measures, but verdict is pointing towards a factory lemon cut.
If it's the case a brand new unfired .40 barrel is going in the thrash can.
Next i will be reading stickies as to sending barrels to the USA, if he can salvage it he will give it a shot

I do not wish to, i have done a trigger job and tuned the gun beyond it's factory setting.
It's set to race in classic, i prefer to deal this on my own, than be turned down and get mad.

Is the top round with 8 nose diving or just not moving at all?
Might be the eigth round is binding on the ejector if it isn't relieved.

Only round #8 and #9 are nose diving.
Im not caring for number nine since i cant use it in competition,
But if it would feed it would be sign of a nicely tuned 1911
Thanks for your suggestion though, not the right answer is better than none at all.
I am looking for any details i might have missed

Haha, if it wouldn't have dry fire properties and I wouldn't be strapped for cash right now i'd feel like getting it destroyed at my local PD.
Instead I have got the most realistic registered firearm replica for dry fire!

My mistake, your first post said it was brand new and didn't mention your modifications. If it was in as new configuration Freedom Ventures would have worked with you and made it right. That's why I suggested it.

Lesson learned here boys and girls, take the gun out and shoot it before tuning lol.
I had too much high regards towards STI to imagine a defect.

No reply from the email i sent STI

Mag springs are well oriented, my mags get brushed internally often or each tine they fall in the sand.

I have tried feeding the gun with only essential parts installed.
So tried feeding it : no extractor, no ejector, no mag catch (magwell pressed hard on table), slide lock only in barrel link (not pushed in frame)

Thanks all for the suggestions

Alrighty, its on its way back to me
I will quote the smiths email, and maybe it will help someone else in the future
So at least its not costing me more than a 100$ to get my brand new STI working

"You had a broken link pin which was caused by the barrel not being fitted properly. I tried the other barrel in this gun , and it fed OK so I compared the 2 barrels and found that the lock up in this gun was only about .030 when I think it should be .050, which it is now. Before, when the gun was forced closed, it drove the link down and broke the pin. Between the broken pin , and the badly fitted barrel , it couldn,t feed."
