Yet another Hunting Clothing thread (but for tall guys)

I have been reading some of the other threads about where to find good hunting clothes at a decent price, etc, but one problem i have had is that being a taller guy, a lot of the jackets and pants i find are just too short for me. This usually applies for most stuff i have ordered over the years that unless they specifically say they are tall sized, then they will usually be too short.

So i am putting it out to all you other tall guys to help out anyone just getting into hunting that needs some clothes to get into it. Where do you find hunting clothes that have long enough sleeves or pants?

Myself i have tried on several Ducks Unlimited jackets and and pants (which lately i find most often at Giant tiger) and the pants seem to fit well, but the sleeves of any of the jackets are WAY too short for me.

I also have a hard time finding boots as my feet are wide, and most boots tend to pinch my toes, and although they aren't "hunting" boots, i have several pairs of Keen boots that fit me well. I find they tend to be wider than most boots and plenty warm.

x2 I have the tall problem as well and generally order mine from Cabelas but even then selection is limited I noticed this year there seems to be less than normal sucks to be tall sometimes except the view is much better up here LOL

Most surplus shops that have Canadian and US surplus will have Jackets, Pants and Parkas in Tall. The Issue Combats are made in the US or Canada.
So they are not "Off Shore XL" and fit snug on Miley Cyrus, they are "Texas Large" and designed with the "North American Gorilla" in mind.

That's my issue right there "North American gorilla". What about guys with a 36" waist measuring 6'5"? Finding a pair of simple pants that are 36" long with less than 40" waist is very difficult. And jackets with more room in the gut than arm length!! Not everyone in NA who wears camo can't see their feet for Pete's sake. Rant over.

Now I did have a quick gander at the local new cabelas, and it does look like tall lanky sizes will be obtained easier. Even saw some carhart stuff that will work for us "abnormal" canucks.

I'm nearly 6'10" with a 38" waist. trying to find any camo is extremely frustrating. I wear a camo vest or tall size worn out Carhartt brown coat, and for pants I use either worn out carhartts or proper camo pants with extra fabric sewn onto the legs.

Well now I don't feel so bad about being 6'2" and 270 lbs. It's tough finding that XXL stuff that's not made for short, big around guys. I need tall and only a little bit fat type of fit. I found some Under Armour stuff at WSS that fits pretty decently, and the archery shop up the street provided me with a well insulated set of bibs and parka in the ever awesome Predator camo. Wind and water resistant too. I feel for anyone taller than I am, it's hard enough getting stuff to fit me.

6'10?! That's sasquatch size right there... Anyway, I'm only a svelte 6'3, but I bought some Under Armour Ayton pants this season and the inseam measures to 33". I believe I read on their site that one of their other pants' inseam measures out to 35", I believe it was the Rut Master ones, but don't quote me.

Cabelas online US site has a vastly better selection of clothing in tall sizes relative to the CAD site.. Doesn't make much sense but that is the way it is. If you can, the US site is the way to go and I have bought most of my gear from there.

Another place with great selection of tall sizing is LL Bean.. Not as focused on pure hunting options but plenty of choices and the nice thing is that there is no difference between CAD and US sites (other than duty if shipping to Canada..for me it is worth it, especially when I can get it shipped right to my office).

I'm 6'3" and about 210lbs.. It's great to actually be able to find stuff that fits properly!
