So for my latest build I entrusted Sean to get me up and running. I had big plans but alas the funds didn't work out so I got the best I could on my budget.
So Sean got me a Kreiger barrel with a muscle brake on a trued Remmy action. I wanted a AR chassis style stock and I have been reading great things about the MDT Tac21 so Sean through it all together. From payment to delivery was about 3 1/2 months and would have been shorter except we had to wait a bit longer for the muzzle break. Only because I was being picky and wanted that particular one, hence the wait.
My neighbor had some 140g JLK bullets that I bought off him and loaded them with 41g or H4350 with Lapua brass and CCI 210s.
Finally got a chance yesterday to shoot it. My first group at 100 yards was ok. It will get better with load tweaking, but mostly the trigger. Sean left the factory trigger in it and I thought I would try I and I can't go back after using a Shilen Competition trigger. I have one on my bench but didn't install it, man I can't wait to throw that in. The factory Remmy trigger is very stiff. Breaks clean, but REALLY stiff. Sean offered to sell me one, but I declined since I already had one. The load was also on the hot side, I thought I loaded it safe but it needs to go down at least 1/2 grain and then tweak the load for maximum performance. Still the first group shows a lot of promise and when I stretched it out to 600 yards it was just under 3". It was a hard day shooting being that the wind was VERY gusty and twitchy. That said those JLK bullets preformed very well and I called the elevation perfect and over-reacted on the windage by about 1 MOA. Pretty impressive for such a heavy bullet out of a smallish cartridge. The muscle brake makes the gun very pleasant to shoot as well. I also took about 5 shots prone and didn't even notice any of the dirt or dust kick up in my field of view.
As far as the quality of work its hard to say. everything looks very nice as far as the brushed stainless on the barrel/brake and the stock looks great. Kinda with the MDT stock was a darker black but thats neither here nor there. Very impressed with the stock and I recommend them for anyone looking to get an AR style chassis that accepts AR mags. Just remember with the new pricing that they don't include a magazine, I didn't know that...meh.

Here are a few pics...

Yup, Sean has those 260 figured out pretty darn good. I am on my second 260 from Sean and both have been great shooters.

Nice rifle, I like the MDT chassis you have and the coyote brown grip and stock, makes for a nice colour contrast.

The first pics had a Nightforce 20MOA unimount 1.125" and it was not tall enough. It was just touching and I didn't like that much. Its just got high NightForce rings now with a Bushnell 4200 4-24x50.

That thing looks awesome. If I show my little lad that he is really gonna want me to get one. :D

How old is your son? I'm guessing that muzzle break works.

Cool. He looks a big eight. Did he shoot it?? If so that's super cool.

Oh ya, he shot off a group. After 5 shots he was pretty much done. It still has snap for a little guy.

The muscle brake is just the brand of the muzzel brake. Pretty cool...does what it shoulf, and well.

Trying to shoot again and now its raining and I'm soaked. So here I am in my car typing and waiting for the rain to stop. So far every group I have shot is amazing then I get one shot of five out of the group. Always just one.
At least I'm consistant.

Hmmm I have a 40mm objective and it ha warn high rings and I would like to go to a bigger scope but it only has about and 1/8th of clearance. Wonder how yours fits so nicely
