Absolutely love the M14.Ca CASM mount. I ordered the mount and received it just over one week later (very good as I live in New Zealand!). I initially mounted the CASM with too much torque on the rear adjustment screw, so I had a "afghanistan zero" and even with my scope dialled as low as possible I was still shooting about 3-4 inches high at 50 meters. I emailed Frank and he (very patiently) explained how to adjust. Took me a couple of minutes for a quick re-install, back to range (put a Blackhawk lace on cheek raiser)-now shooting about 1.5 inch groups at 65 meters. No worries. I'm now ready to for a couple more groups at 100m to ensure approx 1" high at 100m and I'm off to cull a bunch of wild turkeys that are on the farm. I'll be using Hornady 155gr TAP factory ammo. Unless I nail a head/neck shot I don't think there will be much left to throw on the barbie.....:cool:

Happy hunting? Post some pics of those gobblers and let us know how the mount works out in the end. What kind of optic are you running down there?

I've got a Nikko Stirling Diamond 3-9x42 which has very clear glass. Medium priced scope that blows Leupold Rifleman optics away- I had this on my Savage 7mm08 Weather Warrior and it has taken some bit hits with no problems. About 40 rounds so far on the Norc with no issues. Can't really call it hunting unless I eat what I shoot- this counts as a cull! Then again, the next mission will be to take the Norc out on a feral goat cull, but I usually take home some nanny goat legs as they are deee-licious so that will probably count as a partial-hunt...

You're game Bazza.. i wouldnt eat wild NZ turkeys if you paid me... i would shoot them though :D

C'mon! Wild Turkeys are sooo tasty, I usually only eat them around June/July (they are nice and fat then)- best technique is to smoke 'em...washed down with ice cold beer....good times!

Back to the CASM! With forty odd rounds shot, there is no looseness, my weaver steel rings fit perfect, it looks good, not too heavy, unless you have to keep the open sights then the CASM is the only scope mount to go for. Next upgrade will be the m14.ca muzzle break.... I hear they may be for sale soon.....

Off topic here....but why would'nt you not want to eat a wild turkey ? The wild turkeys in ontario taste great. Are the kiwi brand turkeys, like the ones from here ? or are you talking about eating turkey vultures ? turkey vultures probably taste similar to a skunks a$$.
