Way back in the sixties, my grandpa showed me how to shoot his .22 riffle. He did not own any other gun but he sure knew how to use it. I spent countless hours shooting at soda pop cans and the likes in the gravel pit behind his camp. Years passed and I stopped shooting as I began riding his motorcycle. When he died, I inherited his riffle. I put it away in a closet and almost forgot all about it.
Years later, I married and bought a lovely cottage in the woods. I got the riffle out of the case and shot a few squirrels but being near a few homes and having nowhere else to shoot, I put it back in the closet again. Then came all the fuss about registering firearms and that convinced me at the time to forget all about ever shooting a single bullet again.
Years have passed and except for the yearly dusting of the riffle's case, I never did enjoy that firearm again. But it is about to change because I have decided to join a gun club and start shooting for fun again. Being on a budget, I have rallied your usual affordable suspects i.e. an SKS and a Mosin Naggant and am looking for a 12 ga shotgun to join my .22 riffle in my gun case. It's not a huge collection of firearms but I should have fun playing with them for a while.
