I've been keeping my eye out for a YHM AR for a while, specifically the Specter Black Diamond XL, as seem here - yankeehillmachine.com/store/product443.html

However, my endless going through sponsors' sites and searching Google has come up with a complete lack of Canadian carriers of this rifle (I'd even settle for the upper, which I'd be more than happy to throw on an LMT lower).

Does anyone know who might carry these, or do any dealers have plans to import them?

Thanks.

fabsport carries some YHM parts, he might be able to hook you up for a complete upper... just a guess.

Thanks guys.

The response from YHM:

Unfortunately we CANNOT ship anything, even so much as a single screw, outside the U.S.A. as we do not have the necessary export permits from the U.S. Department of the State to do so. Because we are a firearms manufacturer we are highly regulated by our government when it comes to exporting. We do have a dealer in Canada. He is FabSports. Contact him and I believe that
he should be able to order an upper for you. We do not ship our lowers out of the country though.

I guess that answers that question.

Well, apparently he won't sell complete uppers, he'll just sell parts.

The search for a good AR continues....

If you're looking for a "good AR", you should hardly be looking for a YHM. Of all the ARs that are difficult to get in Canada, why get fixated on a YHM? They're are much better ARs around that you can spend you money on.

I understood the YHM to be more of a budget name for AR stuff to be honest.

I you want a budget AR get a Norc and put the YHM accessories on it...

Just from reading around. Pretty much all of the reviews I've read of the YHM Specter describe it as one of the best rifles in its price bracket.

I don't see anything on that webpage that makes me think that YHM is a good buy at 1430 USD. In the US, for another $50 you could get a Noveske N4 basic, which is already on the upper end of ARs.

I wouldn't call them budget at all....They make quality parts and don't spend $$$ on advertising so they can undercut the competition price wise.

I personally love the Barrett REC7, too bad its $2,500.
