Yildiz Shotguns

Before I bought it I searched the internet carefully, but I didn't find any issues with the Yildiz guns.
It seems Clay from Prophet River (they are sponsors, so I can mention and even link them here http://www.prophetriver.com/ ) really took this issue to heart because my gun is their first warranty issue. Next week we will see what caused the problem.

Any news yet?

It arrived back to the distributor/warranty repair center two days ago, so I'm still waiting. Maybe I'll give them a call tomorrow. I'm eager to see what happens. (and when. I hate waiting)

Don't wanna be the bad guy.....but the word on Yildiz is that many have had misfire/firing pin issues. Maybe not yet in Canada....I am no expert, but ironically I was considering one in .410 and did some research last week.....search the net hard and you will find other forums with guys claiming these exact same issues. All the guys claim the guns are priced right, lightweight, good fit and finish....but a reputation has begun to develop with the firing pins. Interesting....

Keep us posted.

I saw those posts. One was a broken firing pin (any make/model can have a broken firing pin, so I think it doesn't matter as a decision factor). The rest was about either bone dry mechanics or grease/dirt in the firing pin hole. I wouldn't consider these as real issues with the gun. Nobody reported the kind of ugly problem I had, so hopefully mine was a one-off odd thing, but I will call them up tomorrow for a follow-up and I've already bought a flat of ammo to test it as soon as it arrives back.

OK, it's on the way back to me, I should receive it on Thursday. :)

So it seems there was a little burr somewhere. I hope the gentleman I talked to didn't refer to the burr caused by the firing pin hits, but we will see. I will take it apart as soon it arrives and post some nice pictures for you to enjoy then I will take her to the range on Saturday or Sunday with another ~300 shells. If all is well, these yildiz guns will be wonderful upland hunting guns! (if not, then it will be up for sale on EE as a club in the "all other stuff" section) So bare with me for another week if you want to see the end.

Hi Rudi,
Have you had a chance to take it to the range? Better yet, did you take it apart? Let us know, let us see !
:D

We are in the finish after a little hiccup. The gentleman at the repair centre thought that the burrs caused the problem, so he fixed that. He even tested the gun with a few shots of Winchester ammo (which almost always worked even before) and when it worked OK he sent it back to me.
Clay at Prophetriver help me to describe the problem to them once again, maybe more precisely. I'm not a mechanic and not even a native English speaker, so I would attribute this hiccup to the miscommunication. The result is that I'm getting a brand new shotgun. Another week of wait until I can post the photos about the internals of the gun, but so far so good. (except the delay)

It arrived back to the warranty center in Alberta on Friday. I'll call them tomorrow morning (I was too busy today) and ask them if they have already shipped back the new one. Hopefully yes. I hate waiting. :(

We just had this one come in. I tried to get good photos but I was a little too late and the darkness made them a bit fuzzy. BTW, I'm not trying to sell, it looks like its already sold, but the wood must be worth more than the shotgun($1600)?
