Had the chance to be invited on a waterfowl hunt in Yorkton SK last year and had a heck of a great time! My hosts were extremely nice people
and had the pleasure of meeting some great fellow hunters from across Canada. Turns out that I did not pizz-off anyone and the invite was
extended to me this year as well, getting ready for a Thursday departure and looking forward to another great time.

Our host tells us that the warm weather has not helped with the hunting this year, he's only seen the occasional Big Canada flock and not as
many Snows as normally seen this type of year. For any CGNers living and/or hunting in the Yorkton area, what's been your experience these
last couple of weeks? Weatherman is calling for a temperature cooldown this upcoming weekend to a seasonal 5C-10C, so I'm hoping for things
to pick up. Thanks in advance.

Was working just west of Yorkton about 3 weeks ago and not a lot of geese around.

Last couple of weeks working south of Yorkton and bigger numbers for sure.

Weird weather here.
34C last Thursday. Made it home and went hunting on Saturday with the old man and was 7C.

Here's a pic from this morning just south of Saskatoon. One of 3 flocks in a mile or so.

I'm guessing there's piles of geese in the Yorkton area as well.

Thanks Pickles, 1/100th of that would suffice for me!

Thanks for the tip lb1234, the gentleman we hunt with has permission on a few farms south of Leech Lake and west of Springside.
If the numbers are good at Good Spirit lake I'm holding high hopes they'll be good at our spots, appreciate your info!

Birds are moving in good now with the recent temp drops and N winds. I would think Yorkton should be good by now. Of course crop production there was terrible thanks to heavy rains flooding fields and runining crops this summer. When you find good fields I am sure the birds will be concentrated heavy.

I have family in the Canora area (Half hour north of Yorkton.) My father in law has been getting geese. Fair amount in that area according to him.

Thanks for info, I actually hunted south of Canora last week. A lot fewer Canada's than last year and even though our spreads were fairly large
very few birds actually decoyed. Tons of snow geese around but the best locations were locked-up by Americans...
Did have a succesful crane hunt one day but as previously stated the numbers of ducks and geese were lacking.

The lessers started arriving this past weekend with the strong North winds for 3 days back to back. I headed north today to work at Foster Creek and from Blackfoot to Bonnyville sloughs were loaded with the little guys!! We shot our 5 man limit of them Sunday morning.
