Yoteboy and I were out testing his coyote skinning rig this week. Course, we had to pick the windiest week to do it, but you go hunting when you can. We lost one entire day to the wind, but Thursday was calmer. The wind dropped long enough to pop nine coyotes and a fox which helped out the average. Otherwise we had to work pretty to get 17 plus the fox in the three days we had to play.
The last evening we got behind in our skinning, leaving five hides to jerk in the dark. Its good that nobody happened by at that time. It would have looked like two cold and bloody guys having a tug-o-war in the dark with a dead coyote for a rope.:D A sensitive type could be traumatized by a sight like that.

I don't know, Yoteboy hasn't told me yet.;) Hunting with your fur buyer adds a certain amount of mystery to the process. Things like, lets see, selling unskinned coyotes then helping skin them. :D To be honest I like it better when they are worthless. Then there are only a few guys chasing them.

Me too, then I don't feel bad whacking them hard with the 280AI and 140gr TSX (really makes the fur fly):D

Wicked job on the dogz.... wishing we had the numbers here like that!

Keep the pics coming

Nice trip, thanks for the pics. :)

What caller is that?

Opps, missed that one. It's a Wildlife Technologies, one model back. There is a newer one that's more compact, I havn't gotten around to ordering one yet. Seems to work.;)

Seems to work?? Yeah, I'd say it might be getting the job done! :)

Here's a better view of the skinning rig, and some of the rifles. Yoteboy was using his new Gaillard .204 built on a stainless M700, with McMillan stock and Shillen trigger. I stumbled through with my wooden (Gasp) stocked Kimber in 22/250. Both rifles have 4.5-14 x 40mm VX111 LRs with 30mm tubes and side focus.

This probably Yoteboy's way of telling me he was sick of the camera being stuck in his face. Ignore him and check out the white pea shooter.

I think they welded it up when the boss wasn't looking.;) Does that make it custom? I think it does.
For deer it should be extendable or at least longer. This one was made to fit in the box of a short bed truck. A $20 hand winch would help lift deer too. Come to think of it, once you have the winch in place you could use it for winching hides off coyotes instead of pulling like a couple of derranged gorillas.:D
