What's interesting to note is that the Yukon News didn't pick up on this story....but then again it's the hippie/eastern bureaucrat paper. You would have seen some great comments if they had. Hell even the montreal gazette picked it up. As a side note I don't think he'll make world record with these green measurements.

DAWSON CITY, Yn - A hunter may have bagged the biggest bull moose to ever wander the wilds of the Yukon.

Heinz Naef says he brought down an Alaska-Yukon bull moose with a preliminary antler measurement of about 177 centimetres long with an antler score of 262, which measures length, width and size of the antlers and the palms.

The figure is slightly higher than the largest Moose caught in Alaska-Yukon with a score of 261 5/8.

Naef, who has been hunting for 30 years, made the kill on Sept. 25.

He says the creature weighed nearly 700 kilograms and it took his entire hunting party of eight people to bring it out of the bush.

Officials from the U.S.-based ranking system Boone and Crockett will travel to Dawson City in a few weeks to officially measure the moose and determine if it is indeed a world record. (CKRW)
