You Don't Own A Type 81 - You Can't Speak For Us

30 round mag dumps are required when using an AK47 to hit a man sized target with a single bullet at 50 yards. Compared to the AK47, the T81 is a precision rifle.

;)

I don't care who you are, thats funny right thar.

However, I must admit to never having done a "mag" dump. But its possible? Wait, what about a 100 round drum.... Does that count?

By not engaging with the people that are calling you out (me amongst others) you sound like a drunk cheerleader running around the prom looking for friends to randomly support the least ridiculous things that you say. You are now doubling down from a 30 round mag dump to 100. No that does not count. Call Uber.

....and there is much more to come, I see TI is starting a new pre-order for the next shipment.
I feel sorry for the guys who thought this will be the only and last shipment of M81s, and therefore they will become a huge collector's item.

Stating something doesn't make it a reality.

Look, I can't help the fact we have access to AKs and you don't. I feel the same regarding the T81 as stated many times.

Claven2 knows where he fudged-up and my point has been made.

Would love to let this drop, but like the SKS thread last month, you just can't seem to help trolling me all around the forums I visit.

IBTL.

I still half expect that the limited run stuff turns out to be marketing hype. We shall see.

I have another 4 mags owed, so I hope this "pre-order" doesn't turn into a sh!t show.

I'd be all over a Type 81 for $600-700, especially if the safety was changed to a 90 degree layout.

Fingers crossed, would be nice to see it get cheaper instead of just more and more expensive like a CZ858-VZ58

I actually want one, I just don't $1000 want one

Will admit tho, if the AK was legal I wouln't give a fug about the T81

Agreed. Had a fixed stock model. Shot about one foot to the left at 75 yds, no malfunctions, front sight was adjusted. But I traded it against something else on my want list since I was more curious than anything. Overall, they handle well. T81s can only get more available from now on, glad to have more options in the "red rifles". The 308 version would be even more interesting. But if it is ever priced at 699$ range, I'd buy another.

Dislikes:
  • Mag not full AK pattern
  • Quality of assembly (kinda expected)
  • Flimsy dust cover
  • Grenade launcher should be removed for commercial versions and come instead with a threaded muzzle

Likes
  • Rounded receiver
  • Balance (fixed stock)
  • Price
  • Novelty for now

Ya. I'd like to see surplus m1's at that price point too. Sadly, it hasn't come to fruition :(

M1? As in a Garand? Oh boy. Honestly, its hard to say where the market takes this, but it is not a milsurp rifle. Its a POS Chinese gun cobbled together for commercial sale in Canada. I'm not trying to be confrontational....thats just what it is. That being said, I still think its pretty cool and I'll probably even own a few at some point. They might sell for 1700 in a couple years or 700 idk.

To each his own, but if the mags were "full AK pattern", there would not be a very nice BHO feature. I prefer the T81 mag design to AK and wish every AK used T81 mags and had the BHO tab in the receiver. You get used to last round indication on BHO.

Also, the dust cover is identical to most AK dust covers. Same gauge of metal. The valmet covers might be a little thicker gauge steel, but not significantly so. It's just a dust cover and I expect the idea was to keep weight down.

I also kinda like hte grenade launcher, the extra muzzle weight helps with faster doubles by reducing muzzle flip. As I said, to each his own :) Nice valmet, by the way. Those stamped receiver 7.62x39 models are tough to find.
