The good news is we'll no doubt have some time to check out the US reviews on these rifles before they come here (I'm being optimistic). I like the 24 and 32" versions. I'm not sure which one I would get though. I guess it depends on the accuracy reports. While the velocity is great on the 32" it would still be pretty long even on a bullpup. Plus velocity isn't much good if it's not accurate. The shorter barrel may be more accurate.
It's good that they are marked as carbine, sporter and target models. The bad news is they are labeled as 7.62mm. It would be great to get them in though. I'm a big fan of bullpup rifles.

I just put in preorder with Arms East. The first ones will all have 18 inch barrels and will sadly be restricted class. But my name is on the list regardless. Then its going to be 32 inchers he said later. I asked him if they were going to swing something to get 18.5 inchers made. He didn't really answer that question but said they will be chopping 32 inchers if and when they come so they are shorter. Though he said the 32 inch barrels on them don't seem weird that they are similar to a regular 20 inch barrel hunting rifle with the 32 incher.

unless they change the stamping on the side of the frame or the DOS takes their head out of their ass, doesn't look like a permit will be issued......
I would take one of the non restricted length ones... put me on the list walt.
for me this is way better then a tavor being left handed there is no swapping things around, this is a true ambi bullpup design, thats why the fn2000 also appeals to me.

They're supposed to be coming out with other calibers as well. 7.62x39, 5.56mm, etc.
7.62 x39 would be cool, if it accepted AK mags would be better. I'd get one for sure if it came in that config.
This rifle has a number of interesting design features. The tilting extractor/ejector if very cool. I don't like that it doesn't have any provision for iron sights and the action is attached at multiple points to the the barrel so it will be interesting to see how accurate it is. It should be quite reliable but if you get a feed or ejection issue how to you get at the chamber? Do you have to take it apart?
I am on the list but I wish it were non res. I might just keep it to trade for a non res one later or buy one of each I guess. Or maybe I can ask for a additional barrel. The bad thing I see with the 32 incher is the barrel is heavy profile and even if I get it chopped it will still be heavy. I would rather have a 18.5 light profile personally since I kinda want one of these for hunting and don't want to lug around a 10 pound + monster. 8.1-8.2 pounds is much more managable. But I guess when your dealing with a non res battle rifle beggars can't be choosers.
