You probably will need a new forend tube if you want Magpul furniture on DA shotguns

I posted awhile ago about the action on my 12" DA Grizzly "sticking" after installing the Magpul 870 forend.

I couldn't find one in Canada, and Brownells carries them (but was sold out for months). Anyways, Brownells finally said they had some in-stock so I went ahead and ordered an authentic 870 forend tube.

I just got it all back together with the new forend tube and all is good. No more sticking and it's smooth like it should be. I had a minor problem getting the Chinese forend tube nut on the authentic 870 forend tube, but I got it tight enough to work eventually.

So yeah, just a heads up if you want to run the Magpul forend on you Dominion Arms shotgun, it might now work with the original forend tube.
 
Ive never had an issue with the magpul forend on any of grizzly ive put them on they need too be opened up a bit just like any forend you put on them. What was sticking?

The action was sticking after I put the Magpul forend on. It was way too small (or the forend was too large, which was the case) to go on the Chinese forend tube. I sanded as much as I was comfortable with out of the Magpul forend and it was still tight going on.

Anyways, the problem has been corrected.
 
I put mine on with a rubber mallet, shot the #### out of it, wore right in. Its an ugly gun to start with so a rubbed spot on the barrel didn't bother me.
 
My DA grizz was slightly sticky, right at the front part of the pump action, when I put on a TAPCO railed/strap fore end.

I ran the action a few dozen times, and eventually the stickiness gave way (guess I wore off the plastic on that fore end a bit).
 
It's not a DA/Norc china gun issue. It's simply a fact of life when swapping parts. I have had to fit and adjust remington factory fore ends on remington factory tubes being used in remington factory receivers with remington factory barrels. You gotta fit parts all made by the same outfit, so you're sure as poop gonna need to do some thinking and fit as required when mixing and matching. Remington hasn't kept the same tolerances on the 870 over the decades so there isn't even a 'standard' to go by.

Basically what I'm saying is that what has been posted isn't useful 'advice'. It's just one sample with one gun and fore end that is not universally applicable.
 
Norc forend assemblies can be tight when installing new forends. You have to really make sure they are fully seated or you will have problems.
