You think Bubba is bad?

At least its not cut. that paint will come off easy, try the Canadian tire brand "heirloom funiture stripper". Wear gloves and safety glasses.

Going out to pay this chap a little visit, anyone want to join me?

May not be an original stock. Could be a synthetic under that. I gotta give some points for creativity. Plus, as others have said, there's not alot of difference between this and guns men paint pink to get their wifes and daughters out to the range.

While I don't like it. It turns heads and that might not be a bad thing it's diffrent for sure. There are plenty of Lee enfields out there so if someone destroys 1 or 2 its no big deal.

yeah but down the road that number gets less and less that kind of mentalty is why prices go up and will end up destroying everything

many people like me have to fix bubba's damage

back in the day ok but no reason now

Bubba uses hacksaws, jbweld, BIG hammers, vicegrips, self-tapping metal scews...the list goes on.

This has been painted. The barrel appears complete. The sights are on it (no scope mount)...

Y'know? This might have been the "gateway-rifle" for a new shooter. At any time, the paint can be removed without really munging up what's underneath. There was a recent "bubba got lazy" thread where an ugly paintjob was easily removed to demonstrate a fine bit of history...

Bubba takes a rifle on a one-way trip, it can't come back again.

bubba's rifle can be fixed it just takes the replacing of parts

And sometimes, a deep wallet, and a good parts source :D.

well theres a point where you have to say f*** it and make it into a nice sporter, cut barrels is where i draw the line then its make sure the muzzle is flat (that is if ts not shorter then 18.5) and recrown or rebarrel in somethink like .25/.303 or .22/.303

i take bubba's nice little forends and use then for stock repairs

alot of these bubba guns are from when these where first sold as surplus and framers and hunters wanted a nicer looking gun but some turned out not so nice and in a milsurp world no one likes them that said i do like some of them but its not something someone should do today theres plenty of cheap hunting guns

Bubba never picks the beat up, sanitized rifles, he always goes after clean, non peened rifles, like that Kar98k!

Where does this guy live ? :D

True! I found that with two Gewehr 98s I bought, both being vet bring backs from WW1, they have both been sporterized by the vets with shortened barrels and turned down bolt handles but retain their main military features.

The interesting thing that comes about from these two rifles is that they both added new information to Gewehr 98 collecting and make me question what I know and what is published on the production and use of these rifles.

One of the sporters has been restored to full military and is awaiting conversion to a sniper clone from WW1 and the other will likely stay in her sporter configuration for hunting purposes. The newer one has a new crown and sharp rifling, I can't wait to see how she shoots.

You know what I just realized...that Kar98k has had her exterior barrel and receiver chromed.

You think bubba could chrome the bands to match atleast :D.
