Just landed in Edmonton and wheres the Snow ? Wow it sure would be nice hunting dogs out here. When I left yesterday we got 12 foot snow banks cut back by the blower to keep them off the road.

Shows are under way now ! Good Luck guys !

The snow up there got froze to death.
Either that or the wind blew it east.
Been warming up here and I am beginning to see some lawn.
Well, what's left of it.
Dang pups are tuff on turf.

Living in northern sask coming from northern NB for most of my life, both winters are equally miserable. Just different types. It's been -30 here since October but it really doesn't snow that much, the snow just has no 'warm' days where it can melt like back home. As opposed to literally mountains of snow, slush/freezing rain, damp winters of home.

Pick your poison.

Gotta say Manitoba and Saskatchewan win for most miserable winters. Fort Mac is Fort Lauderdale compared to Churchill MB.

Not sure on that one the old rock in NL to me owns that contest. :) Cold I can handle especially the dry western cold. Snow I just hate period when not living in the mountains

grew up on the prairies then moved to Vancouver island and we to out here hate winter we have had the driest winter in a decade and only three miner snow dumps, never more than a couple of inches. I was out today blowing leaving off my lawn and noticed the daffodil's coming up in our flower beds. things are looks up we are getting good snow on the ski hills though. enjoy your warmth.

Well, I am not particularly fond of all the snow we received this winter. Seems about 1½X the normal to me.

Just got out of a cold snap, several days at -30 and below. Then got another dump as it warmed up.
Weatherman said 1 cm of snow, but in the AM it was closer to 12 cm!!

But, the days are getting longer, just a matter of time till the snow will be receding...good deal!!

Cheers, Dave.

Up to almost ten degrees here on the flat side of Loopyland.
Went and did some shopping today and the snow shovels were regular
$32.. marked down to $8.00
No mark up in this seasonal stuff............

Been a long time since I've seen the snow banks on our road as high as they are right now. Its been bitterly cold for the last month or so. Even the mangy coyote I put out of misery a few days ago is getting eaten up by his buddies. Hope the deer are doing alright.

well as usual here a lot of snow and cold .... well at least here in Whitehorse nobody will trust me but you guys wont move here lol .... we have been spoiled so far ....

Yesterday at 4:00pm we drove from the Cree to the airport and I seen 6 coyotes ! wow you guys got it lucky ! Looks like it would be a hoot to hunt.

Back in Ontario and headed to Montreal now ...

-2 here today. Sure beats all these -20 to -30's stuff we have had most days since the end of October. Yes the snow here in Lloyd went down considerably with the mild snap we got back in January for a week. Song dogs have been in the fields lots with the drop in snow depth, see quite a few out mousing. The warmer weather got me on the move today and went to Cabelas's in Edmonton. By the time I left Edmonton I had a new 10/22 under my arm with a spare clip, then hit Canadian Tire in Vegreville, just about fell over, they had 4 glass cases full of firearms!! Brownings, Beretta's, Mossberg's, Savages and a handful of Moisins and SKS's to boot. Walked out of there with 2000 rounds of .22 ammo. Time to slide the rifle under one of the new scopes I have in the closet and go get her sighted in......love these warm snaps, makes you feel like doing something besides hibernating!! LOL

I grew up 25 miles from Yorkton, and have lived in Fort McMurray for over 30 years now. Our recent winters have been mild up here, but we had absolutely brutal winters here in the 80s. In those years, we had weeks and weeks of continuous -40 and colder. Coming from Saskatchewan, I found it much colder here in those years.
