Youngest daughter rocks the .410 Mossberg 510 Mini Super Bantam! UPDATED

That brings back some ol' timey recollections. My first shotgun was a break open .410 (a Sears I think) that kicked like a mule to me. Maybe because I was twelve. Wish I still had it. Old ones are hard to find and the new plastic ones just don't seem the same.

My goodness Brobee, yer a goll darn genius.
Some shoot'in fun to get them gals in the cook'in mode.
Brains I tell yah.

Fun to wartch indeed.

Thanks.

+1.

You make me envious. My girl is too small still, she's only 6, and 40lbs - although when she saw the pink muddy girl camo 510 in the thread last week (where the guy wanted a 410 for his boy) she asked if she could get one. Lol (so i showed her mom a pink rascal and asked if that could be her birthday present in a few months lol)

My oldest will be cutting his teeth on squirrel this season..... looking forward to the hunt and of course the ensuing feast.....

Well done brobee.... if you and family ever find yourselves in eastern Ontario, I would be more than happy to guide a world class black and grey trophy squirrel hunt.... :)

I took my boy out to shoot some skeet with the single shot 410. It was a bit big for him but I'm having a gunsmith friend cut a few inches off the barrel and cut down the stock. Can't wait to take him out again.

I'm sure you've realized this, but cutting the barrel will remove any choke it has.

I wish my girls showed more interest. They have a pink Rascal. 22. Probably my fault as I honestly don't do much shooting other than hunting. Too many other hobbies lol.

Thanks for all your encouragement folks! We love reading your comments together.

Update on the gun - we've been to the sporting clay range a couple times and the gun now has a round count of approximately 300 rounds of #9 AA .410 shells in addition to a couple dozen of her squirrel hunting rounds. I've given it a couple of complete disassembly and cleanings - it is now considerably more "slick" than it was when we first got it - so much so she can shuck it no-problem.

Cheers,

Jason
