Your 22 250 does what???

most of my .22-250 ammo gets 50 gr. vamax. Works great on crows and corrmorants, and they blow all to peices on mud flats and water, should I miss.I bought a box of Federal premiums loaded w/ 60 gr. partitions. The rifle went from .75 minute groups, to 12" groups. Round holes in the target, but not exactly critter accuracy. 50 gr barnes x all go into 1" though... Havn't shot anything except a partridge, but he sure folded up when up in a hurry. I've got a 3 contour 1-8" barrel on the way. Should make for an interesting package shooting 75 amax, and 75 Sciroccos...

There is no telling a man who makes one shot kills on moose with a .22-250 that his rifle is inappropriate for the chore. Lots of caribou are killed up here each year with mouse guns, and while I consider it a poor choice, you can't argue with success. The GS Custom site has an interesting article on the use of a large capacity .22 wildcat that drives heavy bullets to 4500 fps and the results on big game. PO Ackley liked the .17 Remington for shooting Catalina goats. Lots of folks have good results with the .243 on big game, and it doesn't seem to effect their success that I disapprove.

I agree Boomer. I just happen to feel much happier w/ a 75 amax at 3150 fps than w/ a 50 vmax at 3750, when I'm stying to smoke a crow, or coyote, out around 500m. I've got a standard bolt face 700 SA, so fast twist .22-250 it is, since NB doesn't let me carry anything larger than .224 most of the year.
