Your all time favorite pump action .22?

It's funny, when I was my boys age if I even looked at Grampa's SMLE or 22 leaning up by the wood box in the house I'd have been scolded.:p Even at four years old I knew I had found what I needed. Even if I still didn't know what it was!:D

They may as well learn the do's and don'ts now. They already know not to point even toy guns at people and give their little friends heck when they do.

So czechitout, does the winner mean you have a new toy on the way?

Yes sir! .. Should be here mid week. Already in touch with my buddy in the US regarding restoration and parts that I may need. Also picked up a BEAUTIFUL Marlin 39A Mountie this week too! I was a little sad that I had sold my Glock to get these rifles, but Glocks are a dime a dozen. The two .22's I picked up this week are classics! Couldn't be happier!
 
Cool! Hope you find all your parts. Check Numrich, they have alot of stuff.

I found the receiver from this Remington 12A at the homestead last fall. It was buried in the old Blacksmith shop. It is the last Remington .22 in my quest.

To find one with a good bore is something else as they were used much like a tool in the day.

Hmmmm. My wife and I are going to Kamloops next weekend for the huge gun show there. Just going for the hell of it but might have a looksee for something like this. Maybe find a nice 1906 or somthing else. You just never know what you will see when so many guns show up in one place. Looking for another Savage 99 and may just have a look for a 22 pump to play with. We just picked up a BRNO CZ468 single shot trainer for my wife to shoot. Stamped 58 on the barrel and was told that is date of manuf. Sweet little rifle. I would much rather plink with a pump than a 1022 fer sure. Especially something suitably weird.

The 58 is indeed the DOM of all the BRNO's of that vintage right up to 62 at least, high power and rimfire.

The only new 22 here now is my Great Grandad's Belgium T2 T bolt from 1974. The rest are prewar. There was a Browning semi auto, a Ruger 10-22T with laminate and hammer forged bull barrel and a Brno 2-E stay in the safe for awhile but the old ones always call me back. Even the old Cooeys are fun to plink with. The only thing there isn't is enough time to use them all in one day.

Even the Steven's favorite that goes back three generation got a crow at 60yds last summer. If you could see the front sight on that gun you'd know that is quite an accomplishment. lol
 
Another old pump was the Savage Model 25. They were octagon barreled take downs as well. I have my fathers which he got in the 1920's. Over the years he shot so many .22 shorts that the chamber became ringed so it began to fail to extract spent 22 long rifles. That made the take down feature very handy as a knife would be used to pry out the spent case. Sadly the gun has become so worn that when the safety is applied and any pressure put on the trigger the gun will fire when the safety later is moved back to fire.
 
My fav would have to be the Savage Model 29A, a beautiful takedown 22 octagon barrel rifle. After that it's the Remingon Model 12A, I may put that one up for sale in the coming weeks.
