Having a Gaillard 1-8" twist barrel chambered to 243 Winchester. Plan is on targets 600+ meters with either the Berger 105gr VLD or Sierra 107gr Match.

There's plenty of loading data that's fore sure as I've downloaded a library of it, but which do you find personally gives the best groups in a similar barrel.

The Gaillard 8 twist barrels I have used LOVED the 105 Berger VLD's. You will also find that with the sort of velocity you get out of the 243 that you will be able to shoot 115 Bergers as well. Although not the best for barrel life, you should do very well with that cartridge.

RL-22 and RL-25 are going to give you really good results. Lots of speed, without a lot of pressure. I can go up to 48 grains of RL-22 with a 105 A-max moly in my rifle for 3150 fps. Start way low and work up.
That bullet will take you to a 1000 on paper/metal and to 800 on meat.

Rman, thanks for the info. When you say meat I presume you are hunting whitetails. What rifle/scope combo are you using with your bullet set up? You mentioned 800, is that max effective killing range that you've taken deer? Tips on long rage hunting?
