Your Chosen #1 .22 Ammo and Why!

American Eagle 36 or 40 gr.

It's worked in every rimfire firearm I've tried it in, rifle or pistol, semi, lever, pump, or bolt action, and it's relatively cheap, too.

I know Federal makes it, but it works better in my .22's than the Federal 525 ammo.

Small game hunting, Winchester Super X Power Point.
Handgun competition, SK Standard Plus in my Hammerli target pistol.

Edit: I was using Federal Standard Velocity 40 Grain ammo at 25 yards for practice. I seemed to be getting a slightly higher percentage of fliers at this distance and I chalked it up to slightly poorer shooting on my part. I use a three inch target at this distance. This was with an accurate pistol under very good conditions.
I then tried it out at 50 yards and lo & behold, not a single strike in the black.
Switched over to the SK and viola! Holes in the target black again. Eight inch target black at 50.

I am a CCI fan
blazers for hunting and casual fun and plinking. very accurate at the price and drop dead reliable.

CCI STD vel for pistol competition - my gun loves these and prints ragged holes with them at 25yards. also only had one stoppage in 5 bricks and that was guns fault not the ammos

CCI std vel or SK STD plus in my paper punching rifle. The most accurate ammo i've found under $12/100 (i'm a little cheap)

For those of you who have read my others posts in this subforum you already know i am a BIG fan of CCI STD VEL. This is the most accurate and reliable ammo I have found at a reasonable price. Much better performance for just a few dollars more than the bulk stuff. I am paying about $41/brick and will be getting in a bulk purchase deal for a couple of cases soon.

Looks like I might be a bit of an outlier here, but I'm starting to switch to Rem Gold Bullet from Blazers.

They work just as well in my GSG and 10/22 but they are plated so less leading.

I'm a huge fan of the Federal 525 bulk packs. Accurate in all my 22's, the price is right and when I finally decide to clean my 22's it's a breeze.

Winchester SuperX HV RN 40gr for the Savage Mark II at 100 yards. Tried all of what I could find and got my best groupings with this one.

Win 555 for Savage Mark II at 50 yards and for Ruger Mark III. Cheap to shoot, working great.

I like CCI Mini-Mags and standard velocity. They are my go-to rounds.

That said, I've never really had any problems with Winchester 555s and Dynapoints.

I did have major problems with the winchester HVs though.
