Your Chosen #1 .22 Ammo and Why!

Cheap and Reliable :)

the 525 bulk packs for Federal Ammunition, 36gr Copper washed HP's; I'd prefer 40gr solids, but for volume/price you can't beat the bulk packs.

Although I'm working through my last several cases of the Federal 36 gr bulk pack, I've been stocking up on the Win 555/333 and it's performed well in everything I've put it through, pretty sure it's going to get the nod from here forward. I do have a good stock of Velocitor and CCI SV also but they're both a little more specialized...

I've been using CCI AR TAC .22 that I purchase at The Shooting Edge for $24 for 375 rds. No jams in any of my Ruger 10/22's and it's very accurate for bulk box. Quarter inch groups at 25 yrds and half inch groups at 50 yards from a stock 16 inch Ruger barrel.

My favorite by volume has to be American Eagle hollowpoint. Individual guns may like something else better, but it has the endearing trait of shooting quite well in everything I cram it into. Its just more convenient to buy a case or two and use it in everything.

CCI SV;

- most accurate out of our guns, of 20 types tested
- cheap and common
- cycles reliably, virtually zero FTF or FTE
- comfortable noise level
- runs subsonic out of our semi's
- comes in convenient plastic 100 pc. boxes
- works well in all of our guns, semi's, single's, bolt's and levers

Blazers have the perfect combination of cycling flawlessly in my 10/22's and costing me only $139 per 5000 that I purchase once a year at annual ammo sale at my local shop.

My 452s like the cci stingers velocitors and SV. The savage likes the blazers( they gum it up) and cci SV. The norincos also like the cci SV. The marlin likes the 555s. The rossi likes the cci SV. The cooeys seem to be the least picky of any 22 I've ever used and always seem to hit everything but I prefer to use the cci SV and subsonic in them for the noise factor. The nylon 66 seems to like the 555s too. The trombone likes CB longs. Overall I go through a lot of cci SV.
