Your Desert Eagle 44 load data

As this nonsense continues Iam sure iam not the only one who ended up with a DE in 44 who would be curious.

I've been loading 44 mag and special for revolvers for years. But the DE can be a finnicky lady so I thought I'd ask here. A Google search shows alot of people loading 296/h110 with good success. Not a powder I currently have in the stash but will keep an eye out.

What's your load for a Desert eagle 44 that has cycled it reliably,

not looking for loads that work well in your revolver, this is a different beast.
 
MY .44 DE only functions reliably with reloads when using near max / at max loads of W296 / H110 published load data ( no issues with any factory ammo).
These guns need heavy loads to cycle properly and get the massive slide moving.
 
picked up some h110 today, I'll probably have to stick to it, my Winchester primers say they are good for standard and magnum loads so I should be good to go!
 
when i first bought my eagle , i also bought a case of samson factory loads the gun ran flawlessly with these .other factory loads , not so much . the only difference was the sampson brass was shorter than the others . i'm still loading with this brass with good results

I also believe this to be true. Any load data I've ever seen (from anyone) all list the same properties for both powders.
While I'm here - I also concur with the guys saying you want to load close to the max. published load data - or you'll have the slide closing on an empty chamber, more often than not.

It's all about the gas. DEs are gas operated. The more gas you can pump into that port on the bottom of the barrel, the more the piston gets shoved back moving the slide.
H100/296 produces a decent volume of gas. Works great.

They are the same, when purchased in commercial packaging - the packaging has both labels.
