Does anyone know of a dealer who stocks a good selection of savages (preferably in BC but not necessarily). I think I'm going to trade my Glock in, my only pistol, but I think I can make more use of a good rifle right now.

Ellwood Epps has the best selection of Savages that I know of, though they are in Ontario. Of course WSS does carry them but getting anything near reasonable value for a trade is impossible with them. You could try Reliable Guns in Vancouver as that is where I got my last Savage, but I don't know how much stock they currently carry or how keen they are to take trades.

I bought a cheap model 110 package gun in .243 with the POS simmons scope.
After swaping out the scope to better glass the gun shoots real good.
Accutrigger is real nice,i like it.
This gun has made a great cheap coyote gun for me that i dont mind beating up on.

Picked up a used 110 LH in 308, thought the trigger was a bit heavy, but got that touched up (Basix makes a couple of aftermarkets for it) and it shoot just great.

I'm pondering something like a 7-08 with the new accutrigger and accustock, once they start doing them in LH as well.

Have an old 340 as well, that Dave Henry prettied up for me. They are good guns, and a true working piece.

I bought a model 11 package in .308, with a cheap bushnell on it. For about 500 bucks all in I can put up 2 inch groups consistently, alot of 1.5 inch and the occasional 1 inch, and I have only ever shot about 100 rounds of .308 in my life. I bought it for a hunting rifle and I am confident shooting out to 200m.

Very nice, what stock is that?

I've had a couple and they have been very accurate. I really wish they would come out with a varmint rifle in 17 Fireball.

savage model 12

I have a Savage Model 12 FVSS 300 WSM with a Chote stock and a muzzle break and a bushnell elite scope and for a gun that will reach out and touch 1000 yds with a bit of skill....you can't beat the price for the set up... i reload my own rounds and at 300 yds i can hit a 1/2" grouping with 5 bullets all day long, with some thanks to the accu-trigger....Love the gun...

i used to own a savage model 12fvss in 22-250. it was very accurate. i wish i still had it.
only had two issues with it. the front end of the stock was a flimsy (i think the new ones are better) and the blind magazine had feeding problems. i understand they corrected that but i have not use any of the new ones.

I have a 10 FP LE2B - the original McMillan stocked version. From day 1 it has performed excellently and turned in consistent sub MOA groups, sometimes 1/2 MOA or a hair better when the stars align and I do it right. I also have a Stevens 200 in 30-06 that, with only trigger adjustment, turns in sub MOA groups with 180 gr NPTs and IMR 4350 every time. Sometimes I can crowd them in around 1/2 inch, but again, when the stars and planets align.

Bottom line is that they're the best bang for the buck, and have shown some real innovation with their F/TR and Palma rifles which I think would be a hoot to try out at long range.

Problem with my savage

I'm having a problem that I can't figure out. I have place 3 different scopes on my savage and I can only zero it in for 200 yards and then I run out of adjustments. I can zero it in for anything lower than 200 yards. Cannot figure it out. If anyone can help me on this. I would appreciate the help. I don't really need to shoot a closet distance but it would be nice to know if I could. Thanks for the help

I'm still using a Stevens Little Scout 14-1/2 that I got (about tenth-hand) when I was still in school. Built about 1907 or so, sort of modified rolling-block/dropping block action.
Still works fine with standard-velocity ammo, accurate as all get-out.
Nice little gun.
Can't afford the new ones, but they are sure accurate enough!

I have a savage 10fcp and really like it. The only issue is that as stated before Savage has been able to charge a few bucks more for there stuff now that people are really into it. I bought a stevens in 300 win mag and just might sell the savage. Accurate as hell with cheap ammo I found! moa and below with cheap federal blue box.
