So whats everyones favorite 22lr semi auto platform? I'm trying to see how popular the 10/22 vs other platforms, and if you DO like the 10/22 what is your reasoning? The reputation? The aftermarket? Because you've owned them for years without issue?

My vote goes to the Marlin 795. I personally dislike anything semi auto that doesn't have a last round bolt hold open.

10/22 because of the aftermarket. I got a bunch of 'em done up in different configurations, from AR and AK74u imitations, to a CQR style shorty. Right now I'm working on two; a burnt bronze cerakoted shorty (my "golden gun" I have come to call it) and a precision rig. After those two I plan to do another shorty, this time a takedown. However, building them has taken a backseat as I have other financial obligations first.

10/22 because before they came along almost every other semi jammed constantly. They work with lots of aftermarket goodies to custom fir anyone’s tastes. I have 4. My favourite 22 is my Marlin 39 with full octagon barrel.

10/22. Bone stock except for disabling the bolt hold open. Was my main gopher gun for many years. Purchased new circa 1997, so steel trigger group.

Brno 581. Has some weight to it. All steel and wood. Really accurate. And I can shoot CCI Quiets out of it reliably.

My first semi was a Glenfield/Marlin back in early 70s, long barrel and 18 rounds. Now my fav is my Marlin 60, since it's more accurate than basic Ruger or other mid-priced 22s. And my Sav-64 runs a close second for semi accuracy - for HALF the price of Rugers or Marlins.

Remington 552 Speedmaster

No plastic craptastic on this thing of beauty plus it reliably cycles 22 short and 22 lr. What's not to love?

My parents gave me a 10/22 for Christmas in 1980, I still own it, and I haven't changed anything on it other than add a scope and sling. I've dusted countless gophers with it and it's been with me on a lot of great trips with great friends.

The 10/22 was the first "real" firearm I ever owned. It was in stock configuration (still is), I have never had any issues with it and was a lot of fun with Butler Creek mags (until they became prohib). Been rock solid reliable for me and will always have a sentimental connection.
