Weatherby for me...and that'd be the Mark V...then the Vanguard. Firstly, no-one else seems to make a stock that's both aesthetically pleasing and fits me...or handles recoil as well. Secondly, I've not been impressed much by any of the others...I might give a Ruger a try next, or another CZ...I'm liking the CZs

now?

1. Ruger (nice balance of fit/finish, accuracy, design, value)
2. CZ
3. Weatherby
4. Savage

(not counting Sako because its a higher price bracket, otherwise it would be #1-2).

a decade or two ago the Remington 700 would have easily topped that list but Remington 'aint what it used to be.

I like Remington for their simplicity and accuracy.
There are very few type of rifles I don't like (pump for example).
Remington makes more then anyone and I have been hearing all
the bashing they get from some guys, however I haven't found one
which wasn't a good shooter.

My problem with Remington,
great design, poor craftsmanship.
If they will improve that, from very good rifle M700 will
become best one.

bought a T3 Tikka 300wsm..a few months ago...been shooting sako or remington all my life w an occasional forray into winchester ,ruger ,cooper
territory...i've built a few on several actions...and after all is said and done...
Remington is like comfort food...install a Timney or Jewel ...damn...they shoot
never been dissapointed yet......

I have about the equal amout of sako's Tikkas, Rugers, but I own more Rems than anything, whats the best well I dont know there all good?
I would think sakos a great rifle but a bit expencive for what you get over the others, but i would say there one of the top ones on my list.
Rugers are dependable but i question the pin point accuracy in my eyes.

I've been shooting Remington 700s since my first centerfire, and have yet to find one that didn't shoot well. However, I am starting to favour the Model 7, it makes for a light, compact ,reliable carry gun.If Remington offered one of these in .338 Federal , I'd be on it like fat on a mother-in-law.

"Off the shelf" .... for accuracy and deer hunting, I pick a Tikka T3.

Remingtons are good to tinker with. More accessory options, but that's not "off the shelf".

.

Why do people buy Remingtons?

Why did people by Ford Pintos?

No Sauer on the list, that sucks. Out of those listed I choose the Weatherby, with one Huge Azz caveat... the Howa 1500. I have always liked them, I would prefer a better mag/floorplate catch, but love the action, quality and price. Then Sako.

1. stevens 200
2. remington 710
3. mosberg
4. Norinco

OK. I'm pullin your leg here now.. But just trying to point out how stupid it looks when the question is what's the best and many of you give multiple answers :slap:
