Your favorite ridiculous handgun price!

I would be more curious about the never spoken of "black market" All the law abiding owners are jumping to capitalize on each other in the quest to acquire what we've had our eye on before its to late while others are looking to retire off one sale.

This new proposed law is supposedly a crackdown on crime, how will it effect their market??

Glock 17 Gen5 @ 1600

Thompson Center Contender with 4 barrels @ 3000

If people are getting these price, power to them. It's a rock and a hard place for me - want so many more but can't justify the zero value once said and done...

Some barrels are like 500 new. So it isnt too far off price. Not everybody buy used.. Mine used is close to 900 with just 2 obsolete caliber barrels.

Since these proposed new laws are not directed at the criminal segment of society, no change. Business as usual I suppose.

CZ Shadow 2 for $2250

Well if the price is beyond your means just get a higher payin job. I love An AHxLE like you that only includes some of the details. The gun cost me $2145 with tax and I purchased two extra mags and a new grey ops holster and double mag holder, plus included shipping and $500 insurance. The gun is basically new and fired very few rounds. If you don’t like the price I don’t really give a shxt. It’s not $5000 with 1000 rounds Like other adds but to be blunt it’s the business of the seller. You don’t like it just move on Jackaxx nobody is twisting ur arm to buy anything. I do love people that only include part of the story.

If it's still possible to legally shoot handguns after the freeze I would personally say it can still be worth overpaying now and getting the grail guns you planned owning somewhere down the line, even if they have no market value afterwards. I suspect that there won't really be any place to legally shoot them or get more ammunition, which will essentially make them paperweights. If someone is really passionate about collecting I can still see the justification in paying for a collection of handguns you cannot use, but I suspect if Liberals get their way a complete ban and 'buy-back' will occur anyways, at which point you're going to have to surrender all the guns you payed 200+% markup for probably 60% of what they were worth originally.

$5000 for a Shadow 2,
second by $2400 for a P229 stainless elite.
CZ P-10 F (standard model) $1375 (dealer listing price too) - original msrp $599 CAD LOL

And an absolutely solid point by Eastern Bloc above - if this leads down the path to a buy-back, you are certainly not getting any more than 80% of what the ORIGINAL MSRP list price of the gun was. Shadow 2 original price $1350. P229 Stainless Elite $1350.

So i'm all for buying something just to have it before you can't buy it anymore, whether that rule is permanent or not. I picked up a CZ P-10 F for $600 second hand.. and if I shoot a couple thousand rounds over the next few years before they decide to make me sell it back to them.. at least I get to have some fun before they pay me for it. But absolutely, 100%, do not overpay for anything. Especially not in this economy.

Everyone is trying to offload or offset costs now I imagine. People have realised that the second the ban to sell them clicks into effect everything you own is worthless so people are offloading the things for max price now.

It could be a handgun or a 1lb flawless diamond... if you can't sell it, its technically worth nothing.

They are only worthless if you can't figure out how to export them to the US and auction them. Good money to be made that way, and some have already made provision to do so. They won't close down the export of them, the word export is noticeably absent from their announcement. Because it will look good for them if they can say guns are leaving Canada.

Those with inexpensive guns, and few of them, won't find it to be worthwhile. Those with a good collection, and multiple higher end pieces, have options.

Keeping them is a good option too.

Sorry for the late responses, just noticed the reply. IRG had new TC 10" 357 for around $900CAD. I payed $700 for mine, including a 10" 357 with 4x scope. Started to buy barrels for an average 300 - 350 per (plus tax) - the real question I have is what will the barrels go for after the freeze. Do you think they will go up or down ( still want to buy more barrels ) in price? It's a great platform to me and would love to keep it going with different caliburs.

Me and another person were talking how the prices of barrels are going up. Seen a few barrels listed for 400-600 New... Now they're more of a nish market as who wants a single shot pistol? def not younger people. I think it was like 800 for my Super 14 in 357 rem max, and a 22LR barrel in the early 2000s. But like alot of things old, prices are just going up due to the collectors value.

I know I want a few more, 45 LC, 22LR. Probably another frame. Just picked up my 357 Rem max barrel today.

Ooo 357 Rem Max, fantastic cartridge! Picked up a 45LC 10" Octogan, 14" 223 the last time Prophet River had a bunch. :)

Have a 14" 445 Supermag barrel that hurts to shoot - like that Rem Max haha - so much fun!

Some scumbag is asking $2000 for glock 17 gen 5. No accessories or extra mags or anything other than what it comes with. I asked him if it came with $1000?

$900 norinco 1911 that someone probably paid $350 for.
