Your favourite .22 Mag

For an "entry level" magnum, I have to agree with Winnipeg Toymaker. The Marlin 25MN is reasonably priced, well built and a pretty accurate little rifle.

Another Marlin 25MN fan and for quite some time. It's my go-to for 'yotes and jacks.
Deadnutz accurate and tough. I also have 3 mags for it

The Rem 597mag semi has been working out really well too , but I had to work out some minor issues first.
A .22 semi with balls

I own only one rifle in 22mag and it's a nice litle Winchester 9422M XLR.
I realy don't use it much, but she is a very nice looking rifle.

I paid $269 for my 22lr and $289 for the 22 mag. I think they just went up to around the $320-330 area. Still a fair price when you compare what your getting to what is on the market.
It's unfortunate that Zastava doesn't offer more models or more options (heavy barrel, target stock). If they made one in a heavy barrel in 17 HMR I'd buy it in minute. Better wood options would be nice to. Their built solid.
Zastava made a semi auto rimfire rifle to. It was a prototype that they made 5(or so I was told).of and I missed the last one by one week. It would have been nice to have an oddball in the cabinet.

Scott....

I really like the Marlin 922m, always did. Harrington & Richardson also made a gorgeous .22 magnum semi-auto back in the 1970s. Either one of those would be very nice firearms I would imagine.

Yah I did not start out at a cheaper 22 mag, started with a nice 1965 vintage Walther sporter bolt action, but just a little while ago I picked up a neat little H&R model 700 22 magnum, a gun you typically don't come across, but a great budget 22 MAG Semi rifle! Dale Z!

Am I wrong or CZ 512 is the only Semi-Auto .22 WMR still in mass production?

More and more I realize what an incredibly practical caliber it could be in the bush. Only if it came in an affordable (so not Magnum Research), accurate (so not 10/22 WMR ;)) and reliable Semi-Auto package. I guess I am asking for a Marlin 60/795 in .22 Mag.!

I was given a marlin 25mn for a Christmas present in 92. Loved it then, and still love it. I put a bushnell trophy 3-9 on in. It shoots everything well, but I'm cheap so I bought 20 boxes of the win 40 gr jhp on sale for $6 a box. A little slower than the lighter rounds, but everything I've shot with it has shown me all 4 paws in a hurry.
