''Your'' go to Rodent gun for 2026.

Ruger #3&#1 in 22 hornet and a CZ lux in 22. These are my main gopher guns. I just sold my 17 Rem and 222. Both great fun in patch, but down sizing a little.

Deadly accurate and instant death unlike a 22 rimfire
Depends on whos operating the gun I guess. You shoot them in the head with SK Long range Match or Eley Semi Auto Benchrest and they seemed to die instantly. 22LRGuy used CCI Velocitors and the impact is stunning. Even shot center mass theyre dead as quick as shot with anything. The 17 HMR is impressive but ammo is not cheap, not that I care but many do. Our group has both as well as fast centerfires but when shooting the amount we do the cost of a centerfire gets up there quickly. Seen a large amount cleanly killed with CCI Standards as well but shot placement is critical but the head seemed to work well.
Can't wait to get my "Hammer 50" on buddies farm to do some pest control lol will be magical
I would love to see that on groundhogs. 700 ft-lbs dumped into soft flesh. Oh yeah. Pics and updates would be cool!

Hey man your not wrong , we don;'t need 90 % of what we have .

But it makes life more Phukn Phunn.
....skwerl
Not when your tryin to shoot itty bitty groups or pick out itty bitty bits of a target. Aim small, shoot small. Yeah skwerl , I never really got into airguns but the last while Ive been learning a lot and having a lot of fun. Love it for pests like starlings and grackles. Great freehand practice.

I don't have any gopher rifles however my son has a few. Vintage Weatherby semi-auto 22LR. Weatherby bolt action 17HMR. This rifle is made by Anschutz with the Weatherby name on it. Ruger 10/22 with a multi-coloured laminated gun stock. Winchester 1883 Low Wall chambered in the 223 Remington, which I'm currently conducting load development. His last rifle is a Anschutz 1771 chambered in the 204 Ruger; this rifle and cartridge combination is scary accurate.......many .100" groups at 100 yards.

Some of those PCP guns are pretty amazing. I had an Airforce Condor in .25 cal, gophers out past 100 yards were in serious trouble. Buddy with the 22 LR was getting pretty frustrated, being out-shot by a pellet gun. LOL
