your goto .22lr gopher round?

not all hollow points are equal. Many, I've found, don't work any better than solids. The point must just be for decoration. Remington Cyclones work OK, for the most part, but the odd one will fail to expand, and remington ammo has a well-earned reputation for being very dirty ammo. Winchester Xpert is hollowpoint, but doesn't seem to perform much differently than solids. Federal Champion and American Eagle hollow points perform OK; but my go-to round is the CCI Quik-Shok. At close range, these are absolutely devastating - almost like an HMR or WMR. Out further, there's less acrobatics, but the kill factor is still excellent. QS's (and stingers) have a reputation as inaccurate rounds, though my Savage shoots them as well as anything else, and better than most.

I like Winchester Power Points for the big males in spring and later when they meat up, but when the action is hot and fuiriouis, and mostly babies, I get cyclones or gameloads in bulk or xpert. Federal bulk hollows and American Eagle hollows seem to be the same thing and neither are a good hollow. Most accurate in my guns seem to be the PP.

i bought some stingers(4.99 a box) but havn't used them because the indoor range has an fps limit of 1200(though they said the high velocities around that fps are fine). i think i'm going to have to use american eagle HPs. i tried some remingtons today but most of them were more than the american eagle in terms of price and they shot probably around the same. i also gave the federal 525 bulk packs another chance. no go.
has anyone bought any 22lr ammo from wholesalesports the past week or so? i bought some remi gameloads on march 11th and they were 1.79 a box. bought some today(24th) and now theyre 2.39 a box? i sure hope that isn't the trend among all brands of ammo because thats like a 25% price jump.

My 10-22 was picky when new and loved Cyclones, it's since loosened up and will shoot most ammo. Power points are great as are yellow jackets, I didn't like those Cyclones because they made my thumb dirty but now that I have a speed loader for my Butler creek mags they are once again the go to bullet.
