Thinking of picking up one of these when they roll in next year. looking for- portable, dependable. Is it? Any problems with the mag system malfunctioning on anyone, anything like that? its a bush/camping gun so fail to fires probably not so cool with this one

Also- Hows the fit and finish vs an 870?

some of the mags are finicky and need some work for proper feeding. the original mag I got works great, but the 4 I got after (think they might have been norinco mags) FTF on me so far, I have not put enough rounds through them to work on the problem yet.

the fit and finish is just fine, but the action will take some breaking in to smooth out. I really like my 12.5" grizzly mag thought

Could have just been the one I had but it jammed frequently unless you pumped it slowly and deliberately. I never had to use it in any kind of defense situation but it was still irritating while target shooting. There have been many reports here about the mags being sub-par and causing all kinds of jams. Some work fine though and I say good for the owners, they're the lucky ones. I just wasn't one of 'em.

Yeah I was thinking that might be a downside of the mag, the more parts the more parts that can fail. thanks for your input man that makes alot of sense. sucks though, I cant imagine a better bush gun in theory. that can be unloaded as per regulations/safety and just rack the loaded mag in if you need it.

I've had my Grizzly mag for several years now and I have no problem relying on it for a self defense situation....The action was a little rough out-of-the-box but it eventually smoothed out a bit, as most firearm actions do...Interestingly, I have 7 mags and they all work perfectly...But I always seem to lucky with the firearms I buy...:D

Some people forget that pump shotguns are meant to be, well, pumped....A lot of "malfunctions" occur because some believe the action will break if it's "pumped" too hard....As a result, the shotgun is "short stroked"...Don't be timid, pump that sucker!:)....

No, the Grizzly is not a Benelli, but for the price, I think it's an excellent value....

BTW....The Grizzly I bought the 18.5" barrel and later went and bought the 12" barrel, so I'm a
happy camper...
