Does anyone have an idea as to if the DPMS or other brand of AR 10 uppers in .338 federal or .45 Raptor would bolt up to the BCL 102 lower? Is it basically a copy of the AR 102 lower?
If they did, the 102 would be restricted.

I suppose the thought is that if an upper from a current commercial Armalite AR-10 fits the 102 lower, then the 102 lower would actually be actually a current AR-10 lower, and therefore should be restricted.
Are the modern AR-10 rifles - as being currently produced by Armalite - actually true to the original design, or are they scaled up AR-15s?
OK. I have a lot more hands on time with original Dutch AR-10s, both Sudanese and Portuguese versions, than with current .308 AR rifles.
It would be good if an original Dutch upper fit something that was current production, whether restricted or non-restricted, because all originals are unusable 12-3s.
I know that some of the current .308 AR type rifles are basically scaled up AR-15s; wasn't aware that others are dimensioned on the AI AR-10.

Thanks guys. Can't say enough good things about this gun. I've got an SLR Rifleworks handguard shipping to me right now, then it's off for cerakote and then I think I'm done. All set for hunting season.
Hey Bombsquad68, would you be able to point me in the direction of who stocks the SLR? looking to pickup one of their other models for the 102 but on their website it says they don't ship outside the US. Thanks in advance!
I just noticed that, very weird because myself and another member here have them on order. I even emailed them to make sure and they said they ship USPS Priority to Canada. Don't think you'll be able to find the Armalite pattern DPMS-High height ones in stock in Canada, I looked high and low. Odinworks ships to Canada as well if you're interested.
Odin Works, does not ship to Canada, I have tried to a couple of times, I had to use a 3rd party to get it shipped to Canada
I am no expert, but the receiver contour has remained the same. They still use AR-10 buffer tubes, and BCG... I am pretty sure they are true to the original design...
This is incorrect. Modern .308 AR style rifle use a buffer tube that is smaller in dia than the original AR-10 from the 50's. The tail of the bolt carrier is also a smaller dia IOT fit inside what is essentially an AR15 buffer tube that's 1/4" longer than normal to accommodate the longer round.
Modern .308 AR's were designed to take advantage of as many AR15 parts as possible to reduce cost. There is not a single part that is interchangeable with the 1950s design without modification.
