** Your NEA102 build **

Hey what ring height you guys think I should get for that Trijicon 1-8 ? If I remember Ar's rings are 1.5 right ? Just realized I hadn't ordered my ATRS rings yet... lol...

1.375" X-High (weight 4.8oz)
or
1.50" Ultra High (weight 5.1oz)

I would go with medium height rings myself. Not a fan of chin weld when trying to shoot precisely.

Yea man, I lose a lot of range cred when peeps see me without BUIS. They be like "Hey bra, where your BUIS at son? What if your scope explodes and stuff!" and I am all like, "Get outta here you millenial mallcop hipster! Go and play pretend SHTF somewhere else!". haha

Med rings will not give you a "chin weld" on an AR style rifle. It's an inline stock and requires higher rings than most other platforms.

You likely couldn't get low enough to see through med rings.

I dont look forward to getting posted out of here. Will suck the fun out of shooting if I have to do it a a static range.

Its like owning a sports car but never taking it to the track... lol...

Tell me about it. That's why I hit the range as early as possible usually on weekdays ;)

I have my optic on Burris Tactical Med rings and it is perfect for me. Do whatever works for you.

So it looks like those rings are 1" high and designed with the AR in mind. That will place the centre of you optic at 1.5" which is ideal for the AR.

Traditionally, when speaking about ring height a medium only increased the height approx 1/4" above the sight base. That would place the centre of your optic 3/4" above the rail which would be too low on an AR. This can obviously lead to some confusion when using traditional rings on the AR platform.

I wish I had that ability. I happen to currently live in a place where you can't really shoot anywhere but a range within 2.5-3hrs drive.

Once mine comes in I'll P.M. ya, we can fight off the crabby old bubba'd milsurp two shots a season crowd together, with our "Black Guns", I'll bring out my 6.5" Dlask as a deceptor prop. And, now that my hips been replaced, if you're up for a weekend down the forestry trunk road, I'm in.

Also, so far I picked up a 1-8 Vortex ( I have a ton of scopes I move back and forth so...), a new set of grips and I'm waiting for some more feedback on stocks, as well as fore ends. I do like the Midwest so I'm looking forward to Dilligaf's review when his gun comes in.

First package showed up today.
