** Your NEA102 build **

Can confirm the POF Roller Cam pin and the Radian Talon Ambi Safety's both work.

My 102 never had the dent in the upper from the original cam pin cycling like some that I've seen posted here, it was more like a tiny wear spot and it had chewed through something like 550 rounds so far. But the POF roller cam pin definitely makes it cycle smoother and quieter while racking it, whether that equates to any other benefits while firing, I guess we'll see.

The Talon I added because I found my trigger finger contacting the stock safety more than I'd like so I switched to the short throw on that side and the long one on the other. I grip up pretty high so this definitely helped.

Also have the Geissele Maritime Bolt release, I'll post some pics when I get it in there. Ordered it all from Brownells and got $10 off, plus Mail Innovations decided not to charge me customs this time so all in all a pretty good deal.

For the guys looking at SLR Handguards, they do go on sale often. Mine was $50 USD off earlier in September.

Thanks good to know , where did you order the POF cam pin?

About time this showed up :) WoOt WoOt

These will sound like dumb questions, but I'm pretty new to this:

1.) If I were to buy an AR10 barrel, it will pretty much always come with an extension, right? What condition would make someone buy a barrel extension without a barrel? Or vice versa?

2.) A barrel extension is specific to a certain pattern of AR10, either Armalite or DPMS right? So I should plan on buying a DPMS barrel if I want to rebarrel my 102?

3.) Is an AR10 barrel headspaced with a particular bolt? Or can I use one bolt for multiple uppers?

Well, still work in progress, but ...

Thanks to Bombsquad68 for the handguard recommendation. The weight/balance difference is significant.

- SLR Hanguard
- Titanium adjustable gas block
- New Magpul pistol grip (MOE K2+)
- New Raptor Charging Handle
- AAC Break
- Primary Arms scope
- Geissele trigger

- Still waiting on the rifle buffer to change to a Magpul Rifle buttstock

The barrel extension is DPMS, the BCG is DPMS. The barrel nut is ArmaLite thread.

Has this been confirmed? I know the barrel nut is Armalite, and was suspecting the BCG and barrel was DPMS system based but... considering the minor difference between the two and that some actually do interchange DPMS bolts with Armalite barrels (after double checking the headspacing) etc....

It would make sense due to the NEA 25 being sold before, the DPMS system being the most common for parts and the lower being the only registered firearm part. In otherwords only the lower would actually have to be Armalite AR102 based.

Edit: Scratch that, with the clearance mod it now functions properly, but the profile on the contact point of the bolt release, where it's supposed to contact the mag follower is gonna need a little more work. It doesn't contact enough to function for last round hold open, probably not designed to work with SR25 mags. I can probably weld in a little material and make her work. After doing some reading , the BCL102 uses an AR10A style bolt catch which is very slightly different than an AR 15 style.

Dilligaf I remember you said you ordered the Geissele Maritime Bolt Release. Just an FYI, it doesn't work without a little massaging. The Geissele will contact the upper reciever when you're trying to catch the bolt and not allow it to raise enough. Throw it in the vice and give it a buzz with a zip disk . If you want I can mark up a pic of what needs to be done.

I wonder could I throw in my dpms g2 bolt in there and try it out?

Bœmbsquad68, did you install the POF roller cam pin? If so, is there an improvement?

Sorry, I see you already weighed in on the cam, "My 102 never had the dent in the upper from the original cam pin cycling like some that I've seen posted here, it was more like a tiny wear spot and it had chewed through something like 550 rounds so far. Im patiently waiting to see what aftermarket bolt works. The least NEA parts in my rifle the better. Hopefully by then end of it all the only NEA parts Ill have is the upper and lower... lol....

I agree, but the danger with just throwing a bolt in there and pressing the trigger, I dunno, sounds wild and crazy.
