.... did you have to change the spring/ buffer?
That is exactly what I am doing (pending delivery) Magpul rifle buttstock with rifle tube and Armalite ar10 rifle buffer and spring.
.... did you have to change the spring/ buffer?
That was a mistake! DPMS G1 308 stuff is crap. Honestly I think I would take my chances with the NEA stock bolt and that's hard to say!! Other companies make good quality DPMS style bolts. That is what I would look into!!
oh well too late, spare bolt i guess
Epoxy, any info/experience with the Brownells branded 308 BCGs? I can't seem to find any reviews on google.
Just FYI, I put a Gen 3 PRS on my BCL and I had to use an A2 rifle length buffer tube. The buffer tube castle nut was binding up so I had to switch the tube out and change the stick extension to the rifle extension. Everything went smooth after that.
Haven't test fired it yet, but assuming switching the tube won't harm function.
Ugh terrible news. I was hoping it would drop right on. Otherwise I would have bought a gen2 prs on sale.... where did you get the A2 tube and did you have to change the spring/ buffer?
I just got to thinking, if you removed the castle nut from the stock buffer tube, I'd bet the PRS will fit perfect. The stock was only short about the same amount as the castle nut thickness from slipping on all the way and bolting up.
I never stopped to think about it until now because I had a spare A2 tube on hand and just put it on instead.
I did not however change the spring/buffer, but can't say of it'll be reliable either as I haven't tested it out yet.
I wonder could I throw in my dpms g2 bolt in there and try it out?
Funny how this seems to be the most desirable rifle on the market right now but all anyone talks about is changing everything on it to make it reliable and more accurate. By the time you guys are done all that will be left is the upper and lower receiver and you'll still have BCL (NEA) on the side which not that long ago was not much better than a Norinco in most people's opinion.
91 pages of what other brands of parts will fit this rifle to make it better. Sounds like a lot of satisfied customers.
It's too bad they don't just sell the upper and lower receiver alone, you could then add all the parts you wanted and end up in the same place for less money.

NEA is the Norinco of the North. Expect the worse and upgrade everything.
I may be one of few that is 99.8 percent stock, runs fine with whatever I feed it, and don't see the need to change anything else.
I have no intentions of any further changes.
Still cheaper than my ACR...lol... And there is no other NR AR10's on the market.
I intend to buy one, hang glass on it and shoot it...
