** Your NEA102 build **

That should be polished smooth with no machining marks at all. Many manufacturers chrome that area as well. Would be great if BCL polished that area and did nickel boron coated carrier and bolt. There's one for the suggestion box :)

You'll probably go through 10 sets of rings before they start lasting more than a couple hundred rounds.

Thats one gross looking BCG...lol... I think Ill just trow mine straight in the junk pile when I receive it. along with 90% of the other parts.

I wish they sold the upper and lower only. The rest of the parts look like trash so far.

You and me both brother... The rifle complete is going back. I'm waiting to hear back from BCL. It has been a week so far. I have had several issues with it. I have all the rest of the parts just kicking around, less a barrel and hand guard. But I think those or at least the one I want will be easy enough to source.

yah im putting my aero precision in it first thing, im not even going to use the bcl bcg at all.

Any chance their future batches of guns are less of a tinkerer's gun and more off the shelf quality?
One thing to swap furnitures/trigger for improvement, another to have to work to make it decent quality.
If I want to tinker I would've bought a M305/M1A long ago.

I doubt it, NEA was letting crap slip through QC right up to the end. It got better over the years but they never got the QC sorted out fully.

Chances are quite good on that.

What makes you think that? Company history does not support your theory.

Its a NEA I wouldn't hold my breath... hahahhahaha.

Now that they will be pumping them out as fast as they can makes me even more concern that QC will be lacking.

Exactly, I would have thought that they would have made sure that with the new ownership and the new platform they would have looked at it as a chance for a fresh start and made sure every rifle from the first batch was perfect. Unfortunately that was not the case and it seems they are still letting the rocks slip through with the gems.
I'd really like to know how many rifles were released in the first batch, it seems like there are a lot of guys with problems for how few rifles are actually in customers hands but maybe there was a lot more which would drop the percentage of problems, either way there are still way too many people with issues.

Don't throw your original parts in the trash, if there is actually something wrong with it send it back for replacement and if nothing appears to be wrong save them for spare parts. Maybe some day they will sell Upper/Lower combos and you'll already have parts to put towards completing your build.

Man, I wish someone else is making this gun, I like the idea of the platform in 308, but I cannot bear myself to own one. And I cannot afford the tinkering time.
Sad to say, I've seen more reliability and less issue sample rates from Norc CQA 556s.

Do you mean something like this....?

Seeing this I thought I would take the BCL BCG apart and have a look. This has 50 rounds through it.

Looks like you got a Tuesday or Wednesday gun :)
So what exactly makes this one look better than the other one which is "garbage"? Both of the ring bearing surfaces look smooth and exactly the same. Entire bolt cavity does not need to be smooth and is a waste of time (see more expensive to manufacture ) when only the ring surface matter for reliability and function.

Im placing an order to Brownells....what are the must have parts? I have the Brownells bcg and an SA .875 adjustable gas block in my cart so far. 6.5 creedmoor bbl from aero precision arrived on Friday. Gonna make a nice deer rifle. I got 1400$ to spend dressing her up... keep the parts info coming!!
