** Your NEA102 build **

The rings do not travel past that transition. ....if they did the cam pin opening would be destroying rings in ever AR ever made...

I think I'll wait till mine shows up and I get a few rounds through it. And, if there are any problems, I'll do what I've done on any gun that I've owned, including a Tikka that needed a fair pile of work to the bolt to even get it to shoot less than 2 moa by the way, or my piece of #### XCRs that as beltfed put it when I posted 1.47" groups out of the M, that 5 rounds didn't count, or the naysayers about my L that shoots sub moa in 6.8 with 26ish grains of benchmark beind Sierra pro hunter handloads and on and on, Kanuckistanians are fudd to the nth degree, if not carping about, or lamenting, without doing #### all by the way, we're crying about battle rifle , or pistol sized rifle accuracy. I get it, this gun should be FLAWLESS and I'm sure it would be, oh wait, there was one that I saw on the interweb over in Newzealand that seems to shoot ok, but whatever, I also get that perhaps rushing these things out to a Canadian crowd hungry for the kind of firearm a few of us remember being able to use without govt. bull#### ( Hopefully to change in at least Alberta in a couple of years) might have the odd issue or two, well in my case I'll just fix it without doing the Midol drama thing.

Yep. I plan on running it hard first trip to the range.....then deal with any imperfections as they arise. Either it will shine or need to be shined

Exactly! I've stocked up on a few hund of hirt for break in and picked up some FGGM,as well as a bunch of other factory rounds so I can benchmark, as well, I'm going to pump out a bunch of handloads, so we'll see. I'm not sure that I'm going hunting a bunch this fall, so my plans of using it aren't all that important to me, but at least Genessee's back out to 800M so I can #### around with it out there over the winter.

So what exactly makes this one look better than the other one which is "garbage"? Both of the ring bearing surfaces look smooth and exactly the same. Entire bolt cavity does not need to be smooth and is a waste of time (see more expensive to manufacture ) when only the ring surface matter for reliability and function.

The shiny part at the back is the important part, if you take an assembled BCG and stroke the bolt in and out noting how deep it sits then remove the bolt and sit it next to the carrier you'll see the travel range of the rings, that area should be polished smooth. The other pics looked like there were machining marks back there where the second pics it looks smooth.
If buying a 102 I would wait till it arrives then fully strip it and inspect before buying new parts, most people should be able to figure out where the wear surfaces are on the rifle and look for those areas to be smooth and free of machining marks, the rest is just cosmetic.
Don't fix what's not broken unless you just feel like upgrading.

I have the exact same ammo waiting here. Battle pack of Hirtenberger, 40 each of FGGM, 150gr winchester, 180gr winchester and federal. Plus 100 165sst handloaded to low pressure just to burn them up.

Nightforce NXS 1-4×24
ATRS Rings
BRAKEOUT 2.0 51T COMPENSATOR ( that factory brake looks like absolute trash )
Geissele AR10 trigger (if it fits )
BCM Furniture
Custom M-Lok Handguard
Will send entire Upper and lower to get a once over at the machine shop and have that ugly bird milled off the side
Cerakote black
Atlas bipod

Should be a pretty decent hunting rig with that setup. Now Im just waiting for the beta tester to report all the problems and issues they find and which parts will and won't fit. :)

If you want hunting rifle.. u can't beat a bolt action 7MM mag.. what were u thinking??

I almost forgot I posted that, Im actually pretty close to that parts list with a few minor changes. :)

I have a bunch of bolt action rifles, I just wanted a nice .308 semi.

He has an unlimited budget for unlimited amount of toys LOL,

I wish, LoL. Its more like 30 hours of overtime a week ;) and now the wife showed me a 1800$ pair of earings that shes wants. So I need to keep working for a few more weekends until Xmas to pay for all the crap I want this year.

You can buy anything, you just need to sacrifice and put in work to get it.

Just ordered myself a J P ENTERPRISES - 308 AR ENHANCED EXTRACTOR :) to be on the safe side

Was just tongue in cheek man! :)

1613.79 in parts and tools :) I replaced everything except the upper lower and barrel.
2131.48 ATRS rings Trijicon 1-8

No NEA102 yet tho.... hahahahahhahahahaha

Haha.
Think the upper and lower and bcg are my only factory parts.
Barrels gone too already abd was by far the best upgrade

Im still debating on what barrel to get. But will send a bunch of rounds downrange first with the NEA one and see what type of accuracy I get first.

Scope is 4-16x50 viper PST. MLOK covers and hogue stuff is FDE. rifle is black and needs to show up soon. Will decide on trigger when I get the rifle. Might grab an FDE raptor and maybe switch to an FDE aeroprecision cantilever

Thanks to irunguns for the cheap gmm

And thanks to cabelas for the $350 off viper and $169 Hirt pack

So I'm going with a DMR style build with mine. And after much anticipation this arrived from New Zealand as my fixed stock choice... Armaworx (formerly Katipo). This was designed so that the AR style rifles in NZ remain "A Category" or what they deem Non Restricted and registration free.

The stock slides over the original carbine extension and has an integrated pistol grip that different colored inserts can be installed into. Black ones came with the standard, and I selected FDE as an option. The FDE matches the Magpul FDE really closely. Grip feels good and has a good length of pull for me and I'm 6'3. The majority of the stock is metal with some plastic. Really solid feel. Went with this as it was way easier to find than a ACE stock and it shipped from NZ without any hassle by regular post.

Still waiting on an optic to go test it out with live fire.
