Are you guys certain it needs charging handle, trigger and bgc? Or just swapping because you want different?

To be honest I don't have time to research what is wrong with the rifle, but I do need it to run reliable or I will get annoyed fast, just wondering if I should be shopping too?

Swapping because NEA has the worse QC in the gun biz and I dont trust anything they make. and some of the parts like the handgaurd looks like it was designed by a kid in shop class.

Heck they shipped rifles with bolts that didnt ever work...lol... and that were so far off spec they chewed gas rings...lol...

If it wasnt for the NR status 99% of us wouldn't even buy this thing especially when they are far better .308 ARs available.
 
A few have had some issues. I can say mine is as it came, except different muzzle brake. No issues to speak of. Your call, I suppose. You should read the threads, so you can have the information to make a decision that is good for you.
 
I honestly don't know much about building guns, I really should learn as I have quite a few I need to modify, so they aren't getting shot because of it.
I still have an unused x95 with a new lefty bolt, Geissele, and lightning bow sitting on the shelf. I was hearing about headspace issues so I didn't do anything with it yet.

But if this 102 needs changes to run reliable I may need to find someone around e-town to teach me how to swap stuff out or what to look for... or watch 30 hrs of YouTube ..
 
Personally I would ascribe value to someone's opinion on the gun in direct proportion to the amount of time they've spent shooting it, and the skill with which they shot it.

Shot it a lot, and you're a skilled shooter? You probably know quite a bit about what it needs or doesn't need.

Shot it a lot, but not really a great shooter? You probably know something, but should listen more than you talk.

Haven't shot it? Well...

They used the early adopters as beta testers and this is why they are making changes to the Gen2 and probably why they are behind schedule.

If owned NEA before and its hit or miss. So buy it knowing it might fail that way you wont be disappointed when it does...lol.. and heck they wont even cover shipping to send it back...lol...

What if you haven't shot the gun because well it doesn't shoot because its defective... Does that mean the person knows nothing since he hasn't shot it at all?

When I see an AR10 bcg drop it's bolt from the bolt weight? Thats weird. So I went and bought another bolt, tested it immediately, it is so damn tight

Man you could get schooled so easy with that.. it's like race car drivers, some know nothing outside of the cockpit, yet can sit in anything and drive the wheels off.
I may not be a gun smith, but I will openly challenge anyone to a shooting competition involving moving targets, and I know others with even more mad skills then me, and the closest thing to disassembling a gun for them was opening and closing the bolt.
 
I don't plan on changing stuff out unless there is an issue, I try to make my own opinion, like the x95 trigger, just a few dry fires and that thing is outta there.

But if there really are bcg issues why fool around? Just trying to differentiate the wants vs needs with guys and their builds

I have yet to meet a pro driver that couldn't tell me, in detail, what any car they had driven would benefit from. Even if they couldn't put it in terms of "increase the front spring weight by 15%" they could always say "the front is too mushy and needs to get tightened up; the steering isn't responsive over 90 and there's not enough road feedback".

I have also found that pro drivers rarely announce a bunch of modifications being necessary to a car they have never even seen, let alone driven.

I would, therefore, be fairly comfortable with the following conditions: driven it a lot and you're a highly skilled driver? You probably have a very good sense of what a car might benefit from, tuning-wise.

Driven it a lot but you are a low-skill driver? You might know something, but odds are you should mostly be listening.

Haven't driven it? Maybe there's exotic circumstance in which your opinion is super important, but generally if you haven't even sat in the thing, then absent some spectacular and unusual qualification, you are probably not the go-to guy for opinions on that car.
