** Your NEA102 build **

I have to agree (although on a tad less of an insulting level) that not having specs and info on the rifle on their website seems a tad unprofessional. I mean even the Jard J48 has a web page...

We've been using CGN, the largest firearms forum in Canada as well as one other which I can't name to post product pictures, info etc. This way we are able to access way more people and provide the latest photo's etc. Once we get this batch out the door we will get more info posted on the BCL and our website but in the mean time this is where it will be posted. Unfortunately we can't keep everyone happy.

Glad to hear that aftermarket handguards should still fit but that doesn't change the fact that BCL should be posting information about changes to the rifle before taking peoples money for them. This crap about posting on social media and nothing on their own website is garbage. When I want to know about a product from a manufacturer I go to the source not Facebook. Facebook is for people with no life to post pictures of their lunch because they think someone else actually gives a chit what they're doing 24 hours a day, not for firearms manufacturers to post product information, at least it shouldn't be the first or only place they post it.
The only thing we get is what appears to be leaked photos with no explanation, it's no wonder people make up info and run with it if that's how you do business.
Funny how the easier it becomes to communicate with the world the less information we seem to get about products. Do they truely not give a crap about the consumer or are they just lazy.

I just think that information about changes to the platform for batch 2 becoming pretty much a Gen 2 should have been posted before taking people's money. When a person pays for a product it would be nice to know what they're paying for up front. Minor little tweaks to improve reliability are a welcome change but a revamp of the receivers and handguard and who knows what else should be communicated not found out when pics are released of them on their way to the paint shop.
This type of poor communication and also NEA's history of inconsistent workmanship is why I'm holding off till they catch up to demand and I can handle a rifle at a retailer prior to purchase.
I am a firm believer that pre-sale's only benefit the manufacturer and retailer so I will never participate in any pre-sale or pre-order. I have enough NR rifles that I don't get too excited when something new is announced, I can wait for the hype to die down and also for some reports on quality to be out there.
As someone in communication with BCL I would suggest that you pass along a message that they really need to step up their QC before sending rifles out to customers. I understand that when you look at a % failure rate the number it is not that big but it is as all NEA products sold to Canadian civilians in the past is too many problem items making it to customers compared to other manufacturers. Any members of this site that have been on here more than a couple years knows to expect NEA/BCL quality to be hit and miss and not much better than a Norinco most of the time.
I would really like a non restricted AR-10 but I'm not putting my money out for one till these are coming out a lot more consistently good.

Dude, you ate all the fkn crayons. Laugh2

Thank you. I’m trying my best with this. I know everything isn’t going exactly as planned but seriously, we’re in the home stretch. Once the first upper leaves paint it’s a continuous supply flowing in. I’d all over BCL every day and in constant communication with them.

Seriously ? I admint I feel like a dumba$$ for being led to believe there was anti rotation tabs. And since im a grown man ill stand here admit I was wrong and apologise to SFRC for being douche. But I im pretty sure we are all happy about the rest.

So unless you are planning to build a kick a$$ AR10 go start a thread about keeping the 102 stock and booring and leave the big boys alone :)

Nice Dave, I wanted to do that with mine, but I don't have the time atm.

Here is mine (pretty sure I posted it before but whateva)

Honestly, my build is how I envisioned the stock BCL 102. The rifle is a manageable weight now and I would not be hesitant, at all, about lugging this rifle around the side of a mountain for a hunt (which is kind of the point of a NR rifle IMO).

As a side note, I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, but if you're listening NEA/BCL/SFRC round off the god damn corners on the mag well and near the trigger. That #### is uncomfortable.

More builds, less #####ing. Still waiting on taper pins, drill bit, and taper reamer.

I know there is "the right way" but I've done taper pin holes for gas blocks before, I just drill through from the small hole side with a bit that just fits then use a small round jewelers file to match the taper across to the large hole side.

That looks really good, looking forward to some range reports.
