** Your NEA102 build **

I thought you were just getting the receiver set not a whole rifle

I got an IOP gun on order, and I got a stripped receiver set on order. One cant have to many NR AR10's lol

Hearing guys having to wait on the 102's because they ran out of Charging handles was funny. But actually seeing what the CH looks like is icing on the cake....lol.

Maybe they'll make smaller ones you can swap in.

Are you ####ing serious? Is this the charging handle that is coming with the “new and improved “ 102? WTF, I know something that is going right in the garbage can.

Hahahahahahahahahahaha it looks like it's preparing for takeoff

If the would stop staking the castle nut that'd be great too.

Updated with 13.5 SLR.

I also trimmed the buffer spacer to fit the 102 length buffer tube and installed the JP captured buffer.

I have my Viper 2.5-10x44 that should show up next week.

It is the shape of the "wings" on their logo. It is on the top of the receiver on the rail as well. It is branding gone insane. What are they thinking. I guess they are in "Aerospace" as well. Maybe combining the two? Dumbo called, he wants his ears back...

One would have hoped that there would have been at least one guy in the shop that looked at the design of that CH (bad ergos, snaggy and looks gaudy) and said nope, not a good idea. That same guy would have fell out of his chair when someone suggested catamount (or skunk bear) was a good name, the bolt release should be blind pinned, and that aluminum shouldn't be anodized.

Leave it to an "aerospace" (shudder) company to try and put wings on everything.

You have to be kidding... So BCL thought it was a good idea to put wings on their gun and cause another shipping delay?

Guess I’ll just have to order a raptor to go with the rest of the parts I’ve already got waiting for this damn thing lol

I have been waiting since aug 7th... and since then everything has been going down hill. I don't even know what to say anymore?
Might as well machine a bottle opener on it someplace, as least I'd know I would use that feature.

I just can't believe it,... instead of simply making the charging handles ambi, they went with yet again another redesign, apparently my shooting partner needs to be able to reach over and grab one of those wings to cycle the action for me.

What in the heel gun am I going to get when/if it arrives!? What is higher than FUBAR? Because this is beyond that already.

They love birds, they’re modelling it after an owl.

I havnt had any problems with my g2. I have a couple hundred of my reloads through it now and it’s showing great accuracy. It seems to like 178 eld-x, 168 smk and 168 TMK over 42-42.5gr of rl15. If I hit a accuracy node it’s a tight shooter at a little over 1/2moa but on either side of that accuracy node the groups open up very quickly. The slower velocity rounds tend to be more accurate.
I have a Odin works O2lite 17.5” handguard on its way.

dpms g2
sr25
armalite ar10
lmt 308

just because our laws make it NR has absolutely no relevance on the quality of a product. One is the product of parliament the other is the product of manufacturing, no correlation.

I own a g2, still waiting to receive my bcl102 gen2, stay tuned for my range review of both

If it’s competing against those guys it’s kicking arse in the cost dept. what’s an SR-25 go for in USD? Like $5000? That’s like a million loonies! But I don’t really feel its in that league.

They need to either change the handle ears or remove the logo in the middle... possibly both... the over branding is real.

Your optic is likely going to cover up the logo or at the very least obscure it.

I'd like to see it live. Providing it's not sharp edged as the original ones have been reported to be, then function wise the design looks solid and comparable to other ambi charging handles. The amount it extends out while viewed as something that can snag on stuff, is actually useful for operating it like a carbine using the work space system or... if you have large optics. Even the slightly extended charging handles on my LMT MWS and KAC SR25 can be hard to use with a larger optic in the way.

My go to is usually a standard charging handle with a tactical latch replacing the original. Works well, looks good. If I find the look of this new charging handle doesn't look decent or work as well then I will simply go to the old standby. I plan on keeping most of the stock parts so I'll be checking first hand on what I think of this before making some decisions. That being said, it's not that expensive of a change unless you're going with a Raptor etc.

I'd like to see a few more photos/angles. Plus, it should be noted that the Raptor charging handle looks a bit odd as well. Although it works well and the look grows on you once you are used to it. Will know when I get mine.

Most likely yes. I actually didn't mind the subtle branding in person with the original CH but with the new CH it seems over redundant is all. I would like to see the ambi version in person before I could write it off but either way the old style CH was going to be replaced so at this point I'd prefer the ambi.

They've also managed to put wings on the barrel.

I'm not disagreeing with you. I'd like to see it in real life first but it's a bit over the top with the wings. I'd rather they kept it nice and clean/functional. The gen1 accomplished the Armalite proficient yet simple looking machine look very well. The gen2 has some nicer lines to it and I do like it. More refined looking. I don't want them to over do it either with the logo stuff. Keep it nice and clean.

Hahah, wings on the barrel. Oh well.
