** Your NEA102 build **

Chamber is ####ed. Large spiral groove in it. Brass expands into it and barely extracts. Goes all the way around the case. Starts at the shoulder and goes downwards.

Does BCL machine their own chamber or is it a sourced part?

No idea. Only reason I don’t want to send it for warranty work is that I’ll lose the upper for a while. Might buy a replacement barrel but I don’t want anything heavier than stock. It still functions fairly reliably. Tried looking into the chamber but I only have a flashlight, no borescope. I’m worried cuz I can’t tell if it’s a groove or a crack. Chances are it’s just a machining groove. To be a helical crack would mean that it would have to be a brittle crack that happened in torsional loading and that would be very bizarre. Even if the barrel had a material defect and it cracked from pressure it probably wouldn’t be a helical propagation.

I’ve emailed SFRC. Maybe I’ll email BcL too. Hirvgotti- what was the turnaround time on your warranty work?

I'm still waiting for a shipping notice as I'm under the impression I am getting a new rifle. They've been in possession of my returned rifle since the 13th with no update given to me as of yet.

What was your barrel issue?

The barrel was loose and could rock any which way with ease. It actually flopped around as I would go from a standby to shooter ready position. Either the barrel was separated from the barrel extension or the barrel nut wasn't tightened. I'm not sure as I didn't rip it apart to investigate. If they test fired it the way it arrived to me I'd be shocked and scared. The muzzle brake was also barely hand tightened so I believe someone may have dropped the ball putting together the one I received.

Another feature of the 102 that BCL offers.

Imagine the uproar if these were Restricted....lol... The pitchforks would've been out by now. Its funny to see some people defend their purchases, its like they are trying to convince themselves that BCL is high quality.......lol...

the "I can live with such and such issue because its NR " bull-crap is even funnier. Some of the guys on the 102 FB page seem to be in love with BCL...and anything you say triggers them...lol...

I just hope my 102 and Stripped receiver set will be defect free. Heck at this point, I just hope I get my 102 before any other stupid changes take place. The retarded CH was funny but no big deal since you can just chuck in in the trash and hope it doesn't get caught up on the lid.

I cant wait to see what Gen4 brings... LMFAO

Cant believe the Aerospace quality control missed that ! And that it passed the Go/No go gauge test.

Its either in paint or waiting for the CH's that they ran out of.

I can't believe that BCL changes or "improves" on each and every production run and offers "features" each and every time. Each and every production run is different from the last(but don't call it Gen 1, 2, 3...). Hell this isn't ####ing Forrest Gump where "every day is a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get", in this case, you never know what you are getting....or when. This is supposed to be a simple rifle that was already in production, all they had to do is dust off some old drawings, and plug the data into the CNC machines and voila!

Also, knowing that there is a QC issue on their shop floor. I wish BCL would just adopt one design, and concentrate on that and quit ####ing around and focus on their #### QA/QC.

As an "aerospace company" I wouldn't let them design a paper airplane for me right now given their track record with this rifle.

Now they are offering an Ambi CH, that looks like it has some sort of wings, and wings stamped or machined all over the rifle. Every time I see that CH(pictures only so far), I cant help but to think of the commercials for feminine hygiene products with that promote their product with "wings". That CH looks like a POS, IMHO.

Rant done.

I can finally report on my gen 2. Put about 100 rounds of chinese surplus through it. Tenda promised me it was non corrosive please Jesus let it be true lol.

Only one fail to feed about halfway through my session. That was a magpul Pmag I guess that was my freebie. Xcr pistol mag worked perfect.

Put a vortex sparc2 and 3x magnifier on. Zeroed at 25 yards from sitting (no vice or rests). Got a 2” group then moved to 50 yards which is pushing my limits as far as eyesight goes lol and got about 4” sitting and standing and got 9/10 on paper from a standing mag dump.

I’m not what you’d call a good shooter by any means so I think it’s working ok so far.

Red dot is probably not going to help me at 200 yards given my eyesight I see that now. At 50 yards I’m just happy to get on paper with a quick fire. That’s the limit of my range have to see what’s up when I can get it out in the bush.

So in summary it works about as good as anything else in my hands. I’d be happy to lighten it up and get myself to a 300 yard kill shot so I can take it hunting.

I would never brag that I’m a great shot but after reading everyone else’s horrors then only having surplus ammonia hand I was a bit afeared I’d have a dud gun on my hands but by golly it worked.

Anyway for those concerned about corrosive ammo I did the boiling water and ballistol after too.

Relieved

now that’s an epic rant! Can’t disagree with a lot of it and couldn’t stop laughing!

How the #### can a company get progressively worse while making the same product, this has got to be the biggest cluster #### rifle I've ever seen.
